i was delighted to find that lafayette was still alive and kicking though in a bad place in the first episode of the new season. i would have missed him as he’s a very interesting character with i think a lot of potential to develop.

nelsan has really done well as lafayette and i look forward to seeing where lafayette goes in the future.

lafayette, beautifully portrayed by Nelsan Ellis, and Tara, captured in pure form by Rutina Wesley are up and coming black actors doing great jobs. are you saying that about any of the white actors on the show? lets stop being so negative- minded ! would you prefer they were on the streets doing nothing? i for one i’m very proud of these 2 young people. my 14yr old son and i who is a drummer and a scholar watch true blood together every sunday nite and this past wkend there was big write-up in our sunday paper about Nelsan Ellis, who we found out was raised here in bessemer, ala.we thought how cool and only instilled even more to my son that you can accomplish anything ….
