Thank you, Mo Ryan! The lovely Chicago Tribune columnist, and avid True Blood fan, has confirmed the details for the True Blood panel at Comic Con:

The panel will take place at 5:15 p.m. on Saturday, and here’s the rundown of who will be appearing on the panel: Executive producer Alan Ball, Charlaine Harris (who wrote the novels on which the HBO show is based), Anna Paquin (Sookie), Stephen Moyer (Bill), Nelsan Ellis (Lafayette), Rutina Wesley (Tara), Sam Trammell (Sam), Alexander Skarskard (Eric), Michelle Forbes (Maryann) and Deborah Ann Woll (Jessica).

Ryan Kwanten (Jason) will be shooting a movie in Australia, so he and his abs will be unable to attend.

We’ve now confirmed that the panel will be in Ballroom 20, and a signing will take place at the Warner Bros. booth earlier in the day.

Are you attending Comic Con this year? Liz and I will be there and we’re planning a viewing party for the new episode. If you’d like to join us, please email webmaster@true-blood.net so we can get a headcount. We’ll email you with the details no later than Friday, July 24.

Updated 07.11.09: While working on the rest of our schedule, we noticed two more True Blood-related panels on the schedule. Anna Paquin will be part of the Halloween Comes Early: Trick ‘r Treat panel and screening at 9:30PM in Ballroom 20 on Thursday, July 23. True Blood costume designer Audrey Fisher will be part of the Costume Designers: Designing for Television Production panel at 2:00PM in Room 32AB, also on Thursday. We’re adding both panels to our list!

  1. AndThen says:

Will there ever be an event like this in Australia?

    • Mel says:

I know conventions are held in Australia some times although nothing of this magnitude seems to happen outside the U.S.

      • AndThen says:

Yep. Australia is a small market. True Blood is on Fox, and “cable” has nowhere near the saturation level in Australia as it does in US (about 25% compared to 90%, according to mediaman.com.au). Maybe there will be one on when I go study overseas (though I am planning on Sweden – and the chances are probably the same as Australia!).
