Yeah! Alexander was amazing as Colbert. My girfriend didn’t even know that he was the actor who played Eric on True Blood because he embodies both parts so perfectly.

  2. Jesse says:

I am so mad that none of the actors got individually acknowledged! They were completely robbed.

    • Kim says:

      I totally agree!

      • Alicia says:

I WAS SO PISSED THIS A.M WHEN THE CAST DID NOT GET A NOD. RYAN KWANTEN PULLS OFF A PERFECT SOUTHERN ACCENT!I NEVER KNEW THAT HE WAS NOT FROM SOME REGION OF THE SOUTH UNTIL I HEARD HIM IN AN INTERVIEW. HE AT LEAST SHOULD HAVE BEEN NOMINATED. :(

    • Nia says:

I also agree, they deserve to be recognized. At least now they should win for outstanding casting. That is an overall win. In all honesty, Stephen Moyer should have been nominated for Bill.

  3. Fangbanger says:

It was expected for True Blood to be snubbed, but I still had hopes. I was also upset that “Generation Kill” was nominated for the miniseries and minor awards, but not Alexander! Looks like the academy is missing something.

    • Allison says:

Seriously, Alexander is such an amazing actor. I was surprised he wasn’t individually nominated for Generation Kill, it is such a different role than Eric. Hopefully next year he’ll be nominated for TB since he’s had such a larger role. And Anna Paquin wasn’t nominated after winning for the Golden Globes?? That just doesn’t stack up right.

    • Rebecca says:

On one of early news shows, someone said True Blood didn’t get a nomination for any of the cast was because they didn’t really like vampires or some thing like that. I don’t understand why not. This is a great show with a great cast, good storyline and it has lots of people talking about it. I guess a viewing number of 3million & more just doesn’t matter. I can hope next year True Blood walks away with lots of wins.

  4. Christine says:

Congratulations True Blood on the series nominations. However, I agree with the other postings that the individual actors deserved nominations as well. Alexander, Ryan, Anna, Stephen, Nelsan, Sam – each of them bring so much to the screen. There is too much talent on True Blood for not one of the actors to be recognized with an Emmy nomination.

  5. Kim says:

I cannot believe that True Blood didn’t get more recognition. Although it shouldn’t surprise us that the Emmys would be this way. Remember how they were with Buffy, totally snubbed that show. Guess the Emmys are not into the vamp scene.

  6. Nia says:

Emmys, Oscars generally do not recognize scifi shows/movies. The only time a particular movie rose above this was the trilogy “Lord of the Rings”. Even they could not ignore the appeal and amazing effort and talent that went into that. True blood being snubbed like this is very disheartening.

  7. Andrea says:

I am disappointed that none of the actors including supporting cast such as Rutina Wesley and Nelson Ellis were ignored .It should not be genre, it should be quality. Eh,same crap different day

  8. Maggie says:

I am in agreement as well! I cannot believe that Alex didnt get a nod or anything! He was spectacular in Generation Kill and even better in True Blood! And what about Nelsan Ellis? He is fabulous! Those Emmy people apparently don’t know anything about television. I hope that next year the cast will be acknowledged for all the really hard and fantastic work they havd done for this season.

  9. Maggie says:

I think True Blood and Alex was robbed!

  10. StayFrosty101 says:

Well good job to HBO. I’m glad the shows got their well-deserved nominations. I would have liked to have seen Anna Paquin and Nelsen Ellis get nominated. I was also keeping my fingers crossed for Alexander to get a nom for his portrayal of Colbert on Generation Kill. My boy was robbed. Amazing performance and he went shirtless umm and pantless. Where’s the luv?? jk Oh well maybe he’ll get nominated for True Blood next year, especially after his performance on last night’s episode. Kudos HBO!!!!

  11. Katharine says:

The Emmys just seem so out of touch, but that’s not a new complaint. They have been for years, in my opinion. It feels like they practically photocopied last year’s list. No Battlestar Galactica actor recognition (and Mary McDonnell deserved a nod); no acknowledgment for The Shield, etc. The Emmys need some new (and true) blood. :)
