Dear Godric,

Oh m’God, you’re so amazing! Your calm, cool manner drives me right insane! When you smile, I feel millions of butterflies in my tummy! It gives me the giggles! I can totally see why Eric is so devoted to you. As soon as I can get my hands on posters of you, I’ll be plastering them all over my walls and burning candles in your honor. I know you’re a man, er, vamp of peace, but you drive me wild! Oh m’God! And the way you sail in to save the day, lifting bad guys like they were sacks of cotton balls. Oh m’God! I almost swooned!

Allan Hyde as Godric

Allan Hyde as "Godric"

Please, oh please, if I sent you my handkerchief, would you wipe your brow with it and return it to me? Please? I have to have something of yours or I’ll just DIE! I’m going to get a tattoo just like the one you have around your neck, this week. I’m having it put in the same spot as yours.

Gosh, your sooooo beautiful! Your kindness shines and accentuates your gorgeousness. You sit so regally among your people that they can’t help but want to do your every bidding. I would do anything you asked. Anything! I would never have left your side, even for one minute, like some have. Your compassion knows no bounds. What’s not to love about you?

Oh m’God, thank you so much for reading my letter. I just had to let you know how I felt. I would never be able to say these things to your face. I’d just DIE of embarrassment! I guess that’s all, for now. Just, please, stay as drop-dead-sexy as you are now. And if Eric gets too wound up in Sookie or his bar, again, I’m your girl. (Please say I’m your girl!) You so totally rock!

Your biggest fangirl on True-Blood.net,
Liz

  1. Marilyn says:

I was also blown away by Godric. It was not anything I expected at all! I like him already! Hope Eric listened to him when he said that the vampires needed to evolve and be more humane. How much of Godric will we see I wonder? I hope a lot. Wonder what’s up with him not needing much blood? Is it because he’s so old? I thought that was interesting. It sure came out of no where that’s for sure about how his character was portrayed. I’m loving it…

    • Rachel says:

I think he didnt want the blood because he wanted to die. Remeber how Lorena and Bill started to get “the bleeds”? Maybe he wanted to die like that.
I’m also hoping to see a lot of Godric. He was my favorite and i cried like Sookie died when he commited suicide.

      • Elle says:

I think he might’ve been starving himself so it would be even easier for him to burn up. Also, I think that the abstinence from nourishment is something you often see martyr or saintly figures do before they sacrifice themselves. Maybe weakening the body and clarifying the mind in the process…

  2. Aimie says:

I agree with that whole letter but must add : his voice is sexiest voice i have ever heard and if i somehow managed to give him my number do you think he would call me and talk to me? i don’t care what he says im sure he would sound mighty fine just reading the dictionary. I didn’t think anyone would be able to top Eric but that voice…..uhhh Godric!

    • Axe says:

      Haha xD
But yeah, his voice is just so smooth. Ahhh….he’s hot.

  3. Violet says:

    OMG I like totally agree!!!

  4. aliah says:

LOL. this letter to godric is oh-so-cute! i totally agree with you on the ‘will do anything at your bidding’. not gonna rush to get the same tattoo on my neck tho. :X don’t think i can rock it as well as he does.

    GAH!

  5. James says:

like OMG it’s a freakin TV show. Reality vs. fantasy, there is a separation. Good character and acting, yes, but your letter is sad.

    • Liz says:

Like OMG! This is a freakin’ tongue-in-cheek letter, dude. Chill!

      • James says:

so was my “like OMG” girly comment. Somehow I doubt Liz is pretending and just being funny here.

“When you smile, I feel millions of butterflies in my tummy! ” those are not butterflies. Those are the McDonalds big macs rolling around.

        • Liz says:

I believe the word you’re looking for is ‘snarky’. I should know. I wrote it. And I thought it was pretty damn funny. :D

  6. Minnie says:

Adorable letter Liz! I would be devoted to Godric too.

  7. MarianT says:

I am praying that letter was tongue-in-cheek!

    • Liz says:

      Could be.

      • Anna says:

Depends on whose tongue is in whose cheek….right? :) ha ha

  8. Tiera says:

not to mention he has a sexy accent and that calm voice of his… *swoon*

  9. Vi says:

Nicely done again! (Although methinks you should add a “careful, humor!” sticker somewhere.)

    • Liz says:

After writing 6 of these letters, I wouldn’t think I’d have to do that. Kind of takes away the effect, don’t you think?

      • Vi says:

        Hmm, probably true. ;)

      • iLoveYouGodric says:

uuuhhh! i love godric soo much!
:) hes like my dark angel that i see
in my dreams like every night! im serious!! haha
        i do really…

hes amazing and i want him back!
        :(
        he left too soon…

  10. Sarrah says:

I will agree he is hot, and the voice is hot. I think it is really awesome how he is talking about how the vampires need to become more evolved, but that’s about it for me… I do hope however that we do see more of him. And as far as him not needing that much blood. I read some from the book series and from my understanding the older you are the less blood you need… also from what I saw he is probably seeing humans more as friends not food now, so he might also be feeling conflicted about munching on snacks of the human variety now.

  11. Susan Q says:

I totally love this character. I hope they don’t kill him off in Ep9!! He would be a great charger to bring in every now and then.

  12. Mel says:

Like, OMG, he’s totally MINE, Liz. Step off! We are the OTP!!!!!11!!one!!!

    :D

  13. Malia says:

I second everything in this letter, and I don’t think it needs a disclaimer. If people can’t take the joke that’s their lack of imagination and humor. I was shocked by the direction Godric’s character is taking, but I LOVE it and I think it is absolutely brilliant for the story. It makes sense to me that a vampire who has been around for so long would question the purpose of his existence and how he fits into the world around him. Awesome letter, keep up the good work.

  14. Candi Blank says:

    Love the letter, Liz!

Godric, count me in on that, too. Looks like you’ll have yourself a harem, lovely Sheriff!

  15. Twitche says:

Please Please Please keep Godric in the show. Don’t let him go away to the big Vampire Heaven or wherever. Seeing Eric and Godric in the same scene sends me into palpatations of ectasy.

Hum… could we see Godric shirtless…. his tattoos are intriguing.

  16. Lisa says:

i am older than your jesus never met the man sorry i missed it

    • Deb says:

That WAS a great line, wasn’t it? :-)

  17. James says:

OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG

    Like like Like lol

  18. lindy says:

Please dont let Godric leave the show, his character is the most soulful and interesting on the show. Godric gives the show a depth and quality unmatched on any series since the Sopranos. PLEASE make Godric a regular.

    • Rebecca says:

I agree. He is such a cutie. I would love to know where the tattoos come from and the story of him becoming a vamp. Being that old you know it would be really interesting.

  19. d says:

Fantastic actor… A perfect blend to the already wonderful cast.
    As for the character Godric:
To find a vampire with more humanity than most humans speaks volumes… He is not only compassionate, but his wisdom rivals most religious scholars. A true perplexing and complex character. Hopefully, we will watch his quest and his pursuit for the evolution of vampires. What we will probaly see is the eternal debate between liberal(progressive vampires like Godric and Bill) and conservative vampires(like Lorena and our “Kill them all” texas vampire)… It will be interesting to see which side wins….

  20. tiger says:

I love the character of Godric and the actor that plays him…
I am a bit disappointed that there isn’t more of a sexual connection between him and Eric. I realize that the relationship between a vampire and a maker need not be sexual, but I believe it would add complexity to the character of Eric…also it would be incredibly sexy.

    • Deb says:

Well, when Sookie says “he’s your maker” and Eric says “don’t use words you don’t understand,” maybe there’s an “erotic” connection there that humans can’t understand.

  21. Lynn says:

The tongue in cheek is getting as old as Godric, IMO. Granted, everyone’s humor is different, I have a different sense than others. But the panting like a 13-year-old at a jonas brothers concert is a lil over the top.

    • aslinn dhan says:

Get over it Lynne, your humorlessness is bringing me down. You are the one over the top.

  22. Lynn says:

In the books, there was that connection with Eric and his maker. Maybe part of the reason us bookies are so obsessed ;)

    • aslinn dhan says:

      Doubt it mouth breather

  23. Monycka says:

Oh wow!! I love Godric too, first Eric was my favorite but now Godric wow!! I love everything about him….

  24. Ceil says:

Godricks charactor is amazing! Allen Hyde truly projects the charactors attibutes in the most intense way possible! You can almost feel the power of authority emenating from him!. One would believe he was royalty. The relationship between he and Eric reflects the classic old-school bond between an Vampire Child and his Maker [Sire and Childer]. The reverance Eric bestows upon Godrick is unmastakable and understandable considering their ages, 2000 and 1000 years. Eric is, after all, Godricks “champion of death”, as Godrick so elequently put it when he ‘turned’ Eric 1000 years ago. Now that Godrick has evolved, his wisdom has compelled him to travel down the path of righteousness. One can only imagine how ruthless he was 1000 plus years ago! He has alot of repenting to do, that Godrick!

  25. Ceil says:

Question: Anyone in this site know what Godricks orgin is! I’m guessing Egyption. The tatoos made me think that. I don’t think he’s from Norway, like I think Eric may be from [or somewhere in there].

    • Lindsy says:

I believe Godric is from the Roman Empire.

      • Xander says:

He is Egyptian. The tattoos are hieroglyphics which prominently feature the Ankh symbol, which can be understood as Re-incarnation or Re-Worked in the form of High Gothic, to mean Vampyre, Life and Death.

        Thought you should know. :P

  26. ken says:

Godric is by far the greatest character of the entire series. I know hbo has already shot this entire season, but they really would drop the ball if they kill this guy off. The screen presence is awesome. he’d better stick around. Lafayette was kept around and this character is a billion times cooler than anyone else on the show.

  27. Ceil says:

LIndshy, The more I think about it the more I think that you’re right about I Godrick being Roman. The more I look at him the more he looks Roman, plus the comment he made about Jesus “he wish that he’d met him but he missed it”. He was turned and left Rome at the time that Jesus was there. Guessing anyway.
I also hope they keep his charactor around like they did Lafayette.

    • karmie says:

i don’t know about the tattoos, someone else said they were egyptian…i didn’t get a close enough look. the book claims him to be from the roman empire, which equates well w/the age. very cool!

  28. Rose says:

    Godric is so amazing,
he has such a calm and nurturing presence.. it’s sexy!

  29. Chi Chi says:

I love Godric/ I really hope he is shown throughout season 3. I sort of secretly wish him and Jason would have something going on.

  30. Michael says:

Godric is my favorite Vampire. I love his laid back demeanor but, don’t let this fool you he could snap you like a twig. I hope they keep him. If not Mr. Ball needs to have a spin off just for Godric about his last 2000 years.

  31. Vikki says:

I agree with Ceil! Absolutely love Godric, the charater, the actor, the scenes he did, all were wonderful and perfectly unexpected. I want to see more of him in the series. He is wonderful, wonderful, wonderful!!!! HOWEVER the letter was silly and sounded like a 13 year little girl), no befitting of the charater of Godric. Would you really send that letter to a 2 thousand year old vamp?hehe

  32. JenG says:

Ok, I mean, I like Godric too, but come on people, he’s supporting cast, lets not get carried away here

  33. Deb says:

I am surprised by the Godric twist here, and am interested in where AB is taking it. I do wonder about the two different tracks/portrayals I see vampires take: that they’re more ruthless the older they get (as in humans are nothing more than “blood bags”), or they see the ruthlessness of both races (vampires and humans), and therefore become jaded or neutral.

  34. VikingTatGuy says:

Come on JenG, who’s to say that Godric can’t become a major cast member. I vote to let Godric have his own spin off series.

  35. Passion85 says:

I completely agree.. Godric is ridiculously sexy. His attitude is wonderful and his looks just… YUMM! Now, just make sure you don’t actually get that tattoo that he has.. it’s one thing to lust over someone, but its another to obsess to taht point..and trust me.. you’d regretting that one (it’s not actually nice)

  36. John Dowell says:

What a shame that Godric was on the show such a short amount of time…he just electrified the show…It stated just 3 more episodes left, I can only hope this is the season finale? Can’t be going off for good already..

  37. Sarrah says:

I know tonight’s episode made me cry…I wish Godric could have been kept around a bit longer. And Eric, all I can say is DAMN!!! he sure is HOT. And yes I felt bad for Eric, crying and begging Godric to not go. BTW, though I heard somewhere (not sure where) that they will be shooting for season 3 around Christmas…. WOO HOOO!!!!

  38. VikingTatGuy says:

I think I knew in the back of mind that Godric was not going to live, I just didn’t want to admit it. I am very sorry to see him go. I was so touched by Eric and his love for Godric. I wish we could go back in the past and see them together. Congratulations to Mr. Allan Hyde (Godric) on a superb job of portraying Godric. Also to Mr. Alan Ball on choosing Allan Hyde. I wish we could see behind the sceens pics of Godric’s tattoos. It was difficult to get a real good look at them. Good Bye Godric.

  39. Amber says:

I love this show…. And Godric is so sexy, I wished that he wouldn’t of went into the sun that really sucked but i understand why but he he did it. He was the best vampire on the show he was more human then all of them and he understood the humans. I hope that the TrueBlood show keeps going on, hope they keep comen up with the shows that they come up with. Well that is all i have to say this time.

  40. cameron rios says:

how can i become a charector of the show i want to be on true blood it would mean so much 2 me please

  41. trueblood fan says:

Allan hyde is 19 years old Danish actor, quite the right age to play 2000years old turn at the age of 15. Any attraction (…) to him is quite intersting if the person is much younger let say 9 to 19 years or is much older woman or man saying “I can get my hands on posters of you, I’ll be plastering them all over my walls and burning candles in your honor then I feel millions of butterflies in my tummy!” By old I means age between … to 2000 years.

To me Allan Hyde played a good role being young vampire, he show great maturity, any physical attraction I would prefer leaving to young girls age 19 and under.

  42. NewTrueblood Fan says:

My hats off to Allan Hyde, and the writers of True Blood. The Godric character was satisfying after the long and great build up to who this Dallas sheriff was. It was sad that his part was short lived however Allan Hyde made it great and something to remember. I hope that we see more of Allan Hyde in other works and that this really launches his career.

  43. Just Another Fan says:

What were the words Godric spoke to Eric in ancient Scandinavian which were the only words which did not have subtitles?

I believe Godric was a product of the Roman Empire, maybe once a Roman Legionary with great wisdom similar to Marius from The Vampire Chronicles for any fans of Anne Rice.

    • Justine S. says:

Translation of the (Swedish) words that Godric spoke to Eric at his end were the same ones he spoke to him when he was about to make Eric a vampire… “Father, Brother, Son”

  44. ohh well says:

pitty Godric is a child molester in the books.

  45. Lori says:

I do wish Godric would return to the show or does a spinoff on his past 2000 years. Hoping AB is reading these posts and acts on them. Truly disappointed Godric is gone…for now.

  46. Angie says:

I hope Godric comes back maybe in flashbacks. We could have small segments of “The Adventures of Godric and Eric.”

    That would be so awesome.

  47. DROBIN says:

    IS GODRIC COMING BACK

  48. Sally says:

yes, he is. woot. :) my favourite vampire <3
