He’s…the better choice
In both books and show.
It’s a tough one I must say. I am not familiar with the books (but with getting roped into the show I am starting to show a tremendous interest in the books as well), but I think that Bill would more have her best interests at heart. However, I have a sneaking suspicion that it is Eric she will end up with for the time being. He should prove to be the more exciting plot path with her increasing a tension that perhaps has been a bit distracted or abated between herself and Bill for the moment. Conversely, I see him being distracted by and roped in by the queen. And then after that it will be a crapshoot depending on how the plot thickens! That’s my humble hunch and opinion…

After watching frenzy, I’m sorry ladies but Eric still needs work,his comment about the kids tasting good, compared to how Bill treated Arlene’s kids says it all. Bill is still the kind hearted one. Eric may develop but I’m still a Bill fan. I really believe Bill is trying to protect Sookie from the Queen and Eric, the queen knew about Sookie that was obvious. I’m guessing Bill was sent to find Sookie because her cousin told the queen about her special gift, and I believe he was instructed to seduce her, so she could be used by the queen at a later date, problem is I really think Bill has TRULY fallen in love with Sookie and now he’s worried somehow she’ll find out. That’s why he insisted on going to the queen by himself. This would open the door for Eric.

Bill is a bit boring. Eric is far more interesting though I’m a bit annoyed that Bill is portrayed as the hero on the show. In the book for example Eric killed Long Shadow not Bill. He also didn’t sell V or look at kids as if they were a snack! I also think Eric is far sexier and more fun.

I sometimes kid my husband when he’s hungry that I counted all of our pets to make sure he didn’t eat them. I think Eric was kidding about how delicious the chidren would be, but who knows?

This poll seems a bit premature since there’s no reason for Sookie to choose Eric…yet. They need to draw the Sookie Eric relationship out more and give her (and the viewers) the chance to see more of him and what he’s really like. Still couldn’t help myself and voted Eric though! LOVE HIM.

I was going to say I love the tension Eric is bringing to the relationship.
In the love triangle, definitely Eric. In the books at least, he has always been honest with Sookie whether she wanted to hear the truth or not. Bill is always deceptive and hiding something from her and Bill does cheat on Sookie with Lorena and was planning on leaving Sookie.
If you ask overall, at the end of all the books, I would choose Sam for Sookie. He has loved her before any of this, he can grown old with her and they can have children. I want Sam to win it all at the end.
Eric! I can admit that Bill may be the better, safer choice, but Eric is definitely the choice that would provide more fun and adventure. In my opinion, Sookie would be an idiot to choose Bill over Eric; my only reservation is that I’m not entirely sure she’s good enough for Eric. ;D JMO!
As much as I love the bill Sookie relationship on the show and the eric-sookie relationship in the books I agree with Jaxx that she could grow old and have more of a normal life with Sam (she does seem to get jealous when Sam shows interest in others romantically in the books and I have a feeling that is where she will land in the books). The acting on the show is amazing. Just wondering if alan ball will follow the books in regards to the emphasis they place on the eric Sookie repartee.
even if eric wouldn’t eat a child anymore, i still think it helps portray him as what he is: a vampire.

Bill!!!!! It has always been Bill in the beginning. Whatever Bill did in the books and may do in the show (am afraid that the time for Bill admitting his mission from the Queen to Sookie may be included in the show) bottomline is he DID fell for Sookie and thus love her more. Eric is more on attraction and fascination,all a play, no depth in it.
Well I’m guessing it’s going to be Bill for a while longer, so they can really get their money’s worth out of his love for Sookie (blah blah) but in the end it should be Eric.
He’s the one that Sookie craves underneath it all and he understands her desires and passions about the people around her, what drives her and what she’s prepared to sacrifice for those people. Eric is up front, what you see and hear is what you get, well pretty much; with Bill even from the beginning he’s been more secretive and unclear about his true motives and ambitions. I know it’s different from the books but obviously there are going to be some elements that stay the same if not similar so I don’t think we will escape the real truth about Bill (no matter how much he’s professed to be the one) In the end he has as many ‘things’ going on as Eric, only difference is Eric don’t feel the need to hide his nature…
Bill hadn’t seen the Queen since he met Sookie, and the queen knew all about her, and wants to meet her. If anyone has any doubts that the queen sent him off to find Sookie after hearing about her from Hadley, they should be long gone now. If all you Bill fans can’t see that now, then you probably won’t see any of the other plot twists coming.
Difference between Eric and Bill: Bill takes care of Sookie because he was ordered to by the Queen, Eric takes care of her because he is actually interested in her.
Eric all the way, in the books and in the show. Eric has always been who he is around Sookie, Bill on the other hand has always had his own little agenda that she knows nothing about – a snake in the grass (and I have a feeling it will come out soon in the series!). As for the ‘delicious’ children comments from Eric, I’m sure he was kidding – it’s part of who he is, the big bad Viking! Speaking of, didn’t he look like a giant standing next to Bill at the Queen’s palace? Bill all pasty and tiny, Eric ALL BIG GORGEOUS AND VIKING! Really? Who would have a hard time choosing between the two? NOT I!!!
I so agree. The camera made Bill look petite next to the striking Viking. Eric has that sensual, sexual appeal…he could burn a screen! I want to see more of him.
I loved seeing Eric all tall, big and sexy next to little ‘ole Bill. I think it’s been mentioned before that Stephen should have it written in his contract that he doesn’t have to stand next to Alex. It’s totally unfair… Hee hee.
Even though Eric has been my favorite hands down when I read the books, the show made him even better, (I guess that was Alexander Skargard exuding hotness). If you are a big fan of the books, I still think Bill is a better choice for Sookie. You do find out why in the last 2 books Charlaine Harris wrote. Eric is a different vampire from a different world than Bill. I did not like the children comment either, but that is the differences between the two. Bill hates being a vampire, but Eric love it. He comes from being a fighter a viking. Bill was a civil war soldier. though both fighters, different time and mentality. I would choose Eric for myself, but I believe Bill and Sookie are meant to be especially since the show. I feel slightly different in the books. I love Sookie better in the books, than on the show. I don’t know why. Just do!
I definitely vote for Eric, although I think his character would have to be much more developed before Sookie could fall for him. Bill just seems generally weak to me, and I don’t really buy in to their attraction.
How can you people like Eric, still? He wants to eat kids, he hurt Lafayette,
he turned Bill in to the magistrate, he almost got Sookie killed by calling
Lorena to Texas, it was his fault that Sookie almost got raped in Texas,
do I need to keep going?
Bill might have been sent there by the Queen, but its’ definately obvious on the show how much he loves her….
Eric just wants to make Sookie a vampire, and use her gifts….
Eric and Sookie will probably have some sexy scenes, but Eric is not right for
Sookie in the long run…. It will be purely physical… Which would be great to watch….
And Bill seems to be weak around Vampires because they are all older than him.

Bill chewed on a woman and made love to his maker on the same bed of a dying woman. One bad equates another; they are vampires. Bill is nice and all but I think season 3 will really show his true colors as illustrated by the book and if it goes accordingly to the book; you’ll see how much of a behind the scenes hand he had in bringing Sookie into this mess.
I like her dream chemistry with Eric. Maybe it’s the portrayal of a 1,000 year old Viking but yum yum eat him up. So, children are delicious? It’s a TV show, he’s a vampire..I thought it was funny.
I don’t always like how Eric is portrayed on True Blood but I think there is usually an explanation for his actions. Lafayette was being punished for crimes against vampires and as Eric said, most other Sheriff’s would have done much worse. He was doing his job. Same situation when he turned Bill in to the magistrate. Although, I hated that part since in the books it was Eric who killed Longshadow and saved Sookie.
As I recall, it was Sookie’s idea to infiltrate the Fellowship of the Sun church. You can’t blame Gabe’s attempted rape on him. We don’t actually know if Eric wants to turn Sookie into a vampire yet either. He only said that in a dream, so far as I recall.
Eric doesn’t really know Sookie yet, and vice versa. The more he knows of her the more he cares for her though. Bill may love her but he’s not honest with her and doesn’t always have her best interests at heart. Leaving her in Bon Temps with Maryanne while he goes and visits the Queen? Seemed to me that he didn’t want Sookie to know about Hadley or his relationship to the Queen and now she’s in danger as a result.
Honestly, I don’t think any vampire is right for Sookie in the long run. When she’s ready to settle down, she should do it with Sam or Alcide. In the meantime, I really want to see her with Eric!
Can I have her with Eric for awhile and ultimately end up with Bill? I think that’s that best choice! : )

This isn’t a fair question. We’ve had 2 seasons of Bill and Sookie together and 2 DREAM sequences with Eric. Can we get at least a few episodes of Sookie and Eric together?
If you want to make an educated decision on this matter I suggest you read the novels because Eric far more superior than Bill. Read!! Bill is absolutely fake and his motives are immoral concerning Sookie. He is not motivated by love. Don’t be so gullible. Eric is at least honest about his character and intentions. Bill is fake and two-faced.
I vote for ERIC hands downs. He’s so hot! He a bad guy with a good heart.

I voted for Bill because he seems to love her deeply. When he told her that she had awakened something in him that he thought was dead, I wanted to hug him. That was such a poignant moment and I do believe that Bill has truly fallen for Sookie, no matter what his reason for coming to Bon Temps was in the first place.

as far as the show goes, I vote Bill; even though I believe we’ll find with the qeueen in the picture that Bill originally had a different agenda for coming back to Bon Temps and getting involved with Sookie. It’s obvious he has fallen in love with her. Eric (on the show) is amusing but kind of a slime ball at the same time. He has to keep tricking Sookie to do things against her will.
Im stuck between Eric and Sam, Personally Sam would be a better choice, through the books he was much more stable in sookies life and has always expected nothing from her. Unlike Eric who even though I believe he loves her, uses her as a pawn, But he soo hott.. lol
I vote for Eric. He is facinated by Sookie and wants her. He is the typical bad boy, but you know where you stand with Eric. He appears to be trying very hard to impress Sookie that he is the best choice. Bill has plenty of dark secrets and is likely to be a snake in the grass.

Eric, he gets her even when she doesn’t get herself, especially in the book.
But neither is going to be a good choice unless she is turned, otherwise she’s gonna get old and wrinkly and they are going to stay young and beautiful, no way for a woman to age.
I like Bill but he just kinda seems like a wet blanket, and how do we know she isn’t only attracted to him because she drank his blood when they first met… Eric pointed that out in 2.11 Frenzy.
I voted for Bill. To make the story interesting like the books….you Eric fans can get her for a while as long as Bill wins out in the end.

So when do they introduce the Were’s on True Blood? Alcide and Quinn are major characters in the books. Maybe I am moving a bit fast into the series. How about a third love interest, now that would be awesome to watch. Mr. Ball if you reading, make it happen soon……………
For anyone who wonders what the answer was to the very end of the last book, “…the only question is, which vampire did he mean?”, it’s obviously Eric. Sookie never mentioned Bill to Niall. He wouldn’t have known their past. Besides, we don’t know yet if Bill survives. Not only that, but Sookie is still too fickle. Bill, Sam, Eric, Alcide, Quinn, Calvin…At the rate she goes through men in the books, who knows? Maybe she ends up with Barry. But I vote for Eric. HOT and remember, every once in awhile, she gets a glimpse of his mind, and he’s the only vampire this happens with….”he’s your maker, isn’t he? You have a lot of love for him”. This scene happened before she had Eric’s blood.
Eric is a much cooler character than Bill, there is no doubt in my mind about that. I like him a lot. The problem is that Anna Paquin has much better on screen chemistry with Stephen Moyer than with Alexander Skarsgard. In the books, I think I like Eric/Sookie better than Bill/Sookie, but I can’t say that for the show.
