Preview clips weren’t released for this ep, right? Like every other episode leading up to this.
I can’t wait!! I hope Sookie sees the light and goes to Eric lol. (-:
I took a look @ the episode 12 pictures and the one of Sookie/Bill dancing kind of look like the cover of the 3rd Bood, Club Dead. Don’t know if they will show Eric/Sookie this Season but it looks as though they are setting it for season 3.
Bill is one of my favorite characters both book and True Blood. I am one that like a good book and show so I it will be interesting to see what the cliffhanger is this season.
Shame I don’t have a TV (or HBO for that matter), I will have to wait until monday night to see it online, but i so cannot wait! The 2nd season is nothing like the books, so i have no idea what is going to happen. I just wish they let us see it already!
Love Lafayette, and kind of happy they didn’t follow the books for his sake! Bill is great too, but I’m an absolute sucker for Eric. Ooooh, love Alex in the film, i think he plays Eric perfectly, but boy, Eric in the books is so much more.. I’m hoping they make him at least as good as he is in the books. Otherwise, i’m afraid i might not like the series… Eric <3
So…just saw the finale episode & don’t want to be a spoiler, so I’ll just say that I was disappointed and ‘I will rise up’ epidsode was the best of the whole season!
Complete agreement from here. “I Will Rise Up” is my true season finale. These last few episodes were just extraneous.
I am fu**ing pissed! 25 minutes into the end of season show is episoeds we have already seen! WTF!! Is this a JOKE?! Alan Ball must have lost his dM MIND! wE WAITED TWO WEEKS FOR RERUNS?… after they showed every episode all weekend? AAArrrgggghhhh!!!!! Ihope I am not the only one who has serious beef with this sh*t!
Um…I think you ARE watching a rerun. The finale is on right now on the East coast and it’s all new.
OMG..,Mel, you are right! I was watching the west coast! I missed the whole new show! I feel like a dummy! Now I have to apologize and wait until 11:30. My BAD!!
Thanks for the nicely done spanking! OOOOpppsss!
I thought that was a really good episode. I’m glad the MaryAnn stuff didn’t take too long. I was sick of her and ready to see Bon Temps be rid of her. I just became a trubie 3 weeks ago, so I’ve been a little obsessed lately. My local library doesn’t have Dead Until Dark and our big box bookstore just closed. I’m going to have to either buy it online or suck it up and buy it at our more expensive local bookstore. I’m so excited to start reading. I refuse to read book series out of order so I can’t get started until I buy it. I digress… Good episode. Definitely a cliff hanger. June is a VERY long time from now. Patience is a virtue, blah, blah, blah.
OMG, OMG, OMG,
How is it possible to love Bill even more. He was awesome. Friend, lover, hero, and he can sing and dance. I have been absolutely, completely and happily glamoured for life.
I loved the episode, especially now that Sam and Bill have become sort of friends. They have formed a truce of sorts. I have always hoped for that. As for Maryanne, her end was poetic justice.
Many questions left for the cliffhanger. The queen/Eric/Lafayette, Jason and Tara, Sam’s family issues, and of course Bill.
You’re right Leslie, Patience-virtue-blah, blah, blah. Waiting for June will be so hard with the desert wasteland of televisoin out there.
True Blood is the best!!!!!!!!!! Nothing else compares!
I LOVED the finale! Sam was always a little blah to me, not anymore. I am officially a Sam fan (well Eric first but he blew my dreams away of not being the hero). I enjoyed this episode from start to finish and cringed at 9:55pm knowing the end was near. I’m a heavy hearted woman right now but can say, I enjoyed this finale. Great job, AB and staff. ERW was even good and I was gun shy with her 2 weeks ago. I envied her role so much last night LOL
I thought the last few episodes of the season were awful. I hope AB and the crew step it up next season.
This episode was stank. Who the hell was writing this?
Between the time they got rid of Maryanne and the end, was nonsense filler.
It was so irritating. I feel everything needs to be scratched, re-written, and re-shot. This wasn’t even the built-up-excited-it’s-going-to-be-the-best-show-then-it’s-not-actually-that-great-but-good-kind of bad, just bad.
And I hate to get so overworked over a show…but this was completely lame.
(Skip my rant if you don’t want any Show spoilers or Book spoilers if you haven’t read them.)
Cons:
-Bill PROPOSING to Sookie. WTF is that about? The only one that gets remotely CLOSE to proposing is Eric, believe it or not, WHEN he had his memory back (Also when he didn’t, but whatever). BS move, really. This entire scene I was wishing that Sookie was dreaming.
-Again, in-between scenarios was such a waste of time. It took way to long to get to Bill and Sookie. And most of the stuff, we didn’t NEED to know. Just boring.
-The Egg, wasn’t anything. They built it up for no reason.
-Eric is seen only once the entire show. And it looks like they are going to make it him, who has taken Bill.
-Tara, I just don’t like her character for some reason.
-You could only see about half of Charlaine Harris, for a second.
Pros:
-The Sam sub-plot deal, was good. However, in the books he knows his parents, and was never adopted. But I have no big flusters about it.
-Bill and Sam’s idea to get rid of Maryanne was pretty cool.
-The acting was great, but the way the whole episode was put together, I was extremely disappointed by.
-Maryanne is finally done with. Sheesh, that was also strung out way too much. I would have preferred the orgy that Eric and Sookie attend. THEN the maenad kills everyone.
(Some things I may be a little wrong in, and some things I have missed. While watching this EVERYONE in the house decides to walk through and ask questions, and shout from the kitchen into the living room.)
Also, for the people that are probably against this, you probably “love” that it’s different from the book, and will argue that the more different it is the better it is.
THIS is only my opinion that, That is such a horrible idea. If you are going to change pretty much Everything about the book, and the movie you should have just written a whole other book yourself. Because if you change too much, and too drastically it is no longer Charlaine Harris’ story or idea. It is something different. Now, I completely understand that dialogue and character development needs to be accounted for, but you CAN take it too far.
It’s almost getting to the point where I might not be watching for long.
Your opinion sounds very much like my own, except when I was stating all of this in a rant on the phone this morning, there were many more curse words added in, lol. You were much more eloquent than me.
I do like that it’s different and that it keeps it us on our toes. I love Lafayette’s not being dead and the entire character of Jessica…but there are certain lines that do not need to be crossed especially with one of the most beloved MAIN characters from the book. I’m just about sick of the show’s interpretations of Saint Bill and Evil Eric.
I have a feeling that AB is setting Eric up here, perhaps to make it seem as if he is the culprit…and if he does have Eric be the one who took Bill, then it’ll go completely against the books (I think-only getting ready to start book 2), unless he’s very creative with it…it is clear that he’s setting Bill and Sookie up for the long haul tho…
Not at all sure how I felt about that episode, other than THANK GOD MARYANNE IS GONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
(Is it June yet?)
Well… I’m not crazy about this final episode. Definitely “Timebomb” and “I will rise” remain as my two favourites episode from this season. I like the way the closed Maryann’s story. Although I was bored with it’s always a pleasure to watch Michelle Forbes, she is just excelent!!!! Wich reminds me of the special guest we had in these two last episodes: Evan Rachel Wood. Well, I still didn’t like her performance, but al least she wasn’t as bad as in “Frenzy” (she s*cked less). I love Sam in this episode it was very intense for him. All the Bill and Sookie story in the end, was a bit too much for. Too sweet, too much actually.
I liked the cliffhangers, we have several of them.
Complaints: Top of the list: Just 2 minutes of Eric?!?!?! What??!! I don’t like that Bill gets kidnapped and all make us think that Eric is responsible. I really hope he isn’t, that would be way too obvious and AB would be destroying Eric’s character, more than what he already have.
That’s my biggest complaint here: Eric and Bill, they are like white and black. I would like both of them to have good and bad things. I would like it to be really hard to pick one of them. Maybe it’s too early in the story, and we haven’t yet seen all of each of them, I certainly hope so. Otherwise it will be a boring love triangle. But I’m hoping for it. And for more Eric and Sookie in the third season. We will get more of that for sure now that Bill’s missing.
And to finish with the episode, I felt like there was to much filler in the middle of it.
Hated the finale weigh too far off from the books. i am up to book 9 and half the crap in both seasons doesn’t even happen in the books.
before you bite my head off i am however hooked on the show and can’t wait to see season 3. i am a big Eric fan and yes he is sooo different in the books… but who could stop looking at eric reguardless of the poor storlines.. i fully understand creative licence dont get me wrong but i think giving the impression that eric has taken bill maybe too far off base for me.. unless they stick the books and bill has been taken by lorena.. oh well cant wait for next season .. reguardless… like i said i’m hooked..
Spoiler Warning:
Even if Bill was taken by Lorena it still changes things up enough to break the flow of the story. In the book he gets summoned and then agrees to break things off with Sookie and then he’s kidnapped, which forever seems to ruin their relationship. Even when he tells her it was for her protection she dismisses that excuse for his high-handed attitude. I have a hard time believing they can create the same rift in the relationship if he is just straight up kidnapped. I like Bill in the show more than in the books, but let’s be honest… the whole series is about Eric and Sookie.
just watched finale again and still alittle deflated not enough Eric for my liking but as i said before i have the books to keep me going and man.. does eric feature in the books can’t wait til june or whenever Oz get the third season
OMG, OMG, OMG, I didn’t think it was possible to become even more enamoured with our southern gentleman vampire Bill. In this finale we saw him as friend, lover, hero and HOLY MOLY the man can dance (and sing).
I was so happy to see him trying to become friends with Sam (fragile as it may be). I have always hoped for that.
Maryanne, lets just say her end was poetic justice. And about time.
Many things to ponder over during the hiatus:
Queen/Eric/Lafayette
Tara/Eggs/Jason
Sam/family issues
Jessica/Hoyt
and of course, BILL and Sookie!
the next nine months will be torture!
Team True Blood Rules!
When did he dance..and SING?!
I love the episode. I ROOT FOR BILL & SOOKIE because Stephen Moyer makes the character of Bill (in the books) very lovable.I must admit in the books I find his character pathetic but in TV…HE IS GREAT! Now i have t wait for May-June 2010 for Season 3…I won’t buy the next installment in Dead in the Family by CH if she is going to kill off Bill and root for Sookie/Eric to be honest…this is because how I loved Stephen Moyer as Bill in TV…
Whatever happens I AM PRO BILL AND SOOKIE…
This episode was BORING!! I was only marginally interested for the first half and the second half was awful. Eric was only in it for 2 minutes and that was probably the best scene… where he is confused about playing Yatzee. I was hoping for a revelation about Bill being be sent to Sookie as an assignment NOT about the queen selling V, which is dumb.
Sam’s role was good. This was my fave Sam epsiode. In fact the Sam storyline was just about the ONLY interesting one. I like that he is searching for his birth parents.
Bill’s proposal was dumb and so was Sookie’s reaction. Bill is SUCH a pansy! But by far the worst is that they are trying to make it look like Eric took Bill. Hopefully they are just trying to distract us cause I will be very angry if it goes that way. I HOPE that Lorena took Bill and that when Sookie finds them in season 3 they are too close for comfort. And of course Eric can be the hero that helps her find boring Bill.
Season 3 better be all about Eric!!! No more episodes where he only has 2 minutes of screen time. LAME!!
The finale failed to impress. Expected more than the predictability that was exposed, to the point of being boring and banal. Seriously, the proposal scene, Sookie storming to the bathroom…… unsurprising…..Bill’s kidnapping …duh?…..writers please don’t insult our intelligence. Transition to season 3, failed miserably. Nonetheless, anxious for the third season to commence.
This supposedly grand finale really left me feeling cold, empty, and cheated. Maybe I was expecting too much. But I can hardly find enthusiasm in me at all for True Blood right now. I enjoyed Jessica returning to her bad vampy ways and Sam was pretty good in a lot of this show, as were Jason and Andy. And that’s about it on the list of things I enjoyed. Just soo disappointing. Less than five minutes of Eric for the finale….ugh! And Bill is once again elevated to Saint Bill status. Right now, I’m just trying to keep my head up and hope for better in Season 3. After all what’s goes up, must come down eventually. I’m hoping the bigger Saint Bill is build up, the harder the fall from grace will be and that there’ll be a certain blond Viking there to pick up the pieces for Sookster!
ug i agree with you completely. this finale was just brutal. i am so pushing for eric and sookie and right now there seems to be no light at the end of the tunnel that AB is leading us down.
what is he DOIng.
i hope ur right. i hope bill falls hard and sookie will look to eric to pick up the pieces.
I am in such despair. Is AB HONESTLY TRYING to make ERIC the villain in all this? He’s cheating eric out of the story line. Like honestly, I don’t think I’ll be able to watch TB any longer if AB ignores eric&sookie’s HUGE story! AH. so ridiculous that we got like 2 min of eric in this episode when in the end of book 2, eric has a substantial part.
lame. just lame.
and bill proposing. EW. he is so wrong for sookie.
bill just needs to step into a time portal, go back to the 19th century, and become an obsessive, lacking-personality, control freak “lover” of some weak maiden.
i am so dissapointed!
