True Blood Halloween: The Spirits of Halloween

Back in July we conducted a contest whereby participants would submit their beverage concoctions using the new
Tru Blood Beverage
. With Halloween fast approaching, and parties on the calendar, Mel and I thought we would present some suggestions for your party libations this Halloween.

Everyone knows how creative True Blood fans can be and they had the most delicious beverage ideas. Some with alcohol and some without, but all guaranteed to spice up your Halloween festivities. Jenn D says she’ll try her Tru Blood with different spirits to see which one will become her favorite. “I am planning on testing it with a few different liquors to create our signature drink…I’m thinking a little Vodka, a little Grand Marnier and a floating raspberry garnish…Yummy!”

Of course, Mel and I tried it with vodka, and it was fabulous. Tami Zeigler is going “sailing with Trublood!!! Vessel Of DeathTru Blood and Captain Morgan! With a hint of mint.” Couldn’t you see that served at a Haunted Pirate Ship themed Halloween party? However, Gabrielle is a bit of a romantic, and she is thinking of Vampire’s Kisses. “I’m thinking of a little twist on the Vampire’s Kiss:

1oz. Vodka
1oz. Tru Blood
1/2 oz. Peach schnapps (can be substituted for your favorite flavor)
dash grenadine
And perhaps you can rename it Bill’s Kiss… or maybe Eric’s!”

Stephanie G. might be thinking of a quiet Halloween at home with her Blood Comfort. “I may try it with some Southern Comfort.” Chad G. will spice his Blood with something more regal. “I am going to order
Tru Blood
and I will drink it with Crown and call it The Blood Covered Crown!” Debbie knows how to make her Blood Drip Till It’s Dry. “Tru Blood mixed with Vanilla Vodka or Malibu Rum, slowly savored, drained, but not all the way, just like a good vampire operates!”

Godspeed offers up three for your menu:
Tru Iced Tea

1oz vodka-Stoli Elit
1oz tequilla-Patron Silver
1oz rum-Bacardi Silver
1oz gin-Tanqueray No. Ten
1oz triple sec
1oz sweet and sour mix

Shake over ice

Add 2 splashes Tru Blood for coloring and flavor

Serve in tall glass(8oz+)

TruBomb

1oz Jagermeister
4oz Tru Blood
Pour the Tru Blood into a medium sized glass
Pour the Jagermeister into a 1oz shot glass

Drop the Jager into the cup of Tru Blood and drink(quickly).

TruBlood Mopolitan

Add to shaker with ice

2 oz vodka
1 oz cranberry juice
1 oz lime juice

add

1oz Tru Blood
Strain into cocktail glass and enjoy.

Many suggested mixing Tru Blood with different juices, such as cranberry, pomegranate or blood orange, for a non-alcoholic twist. I like onecrazydee‘s idea of a Fangtasia Float, “Wondering how TruBood & vanilla ice cream would be together. Kinda like a sour Creamsicle?” Yum-O!

There you have it! Thanks to the musings of True Blood fans everywhere, you too can impress your ghost, ghoul and goblin guests with these suggestions. But remember, Tru Blood is a carbonated beverage. I wouldn’t suggest shaking or heating. Unless, of course, it’s part of your party fun.

Party hardy, Truebies! And as always, drink responsibly.
