SPOILERS: True Blood Episode 302 Casting Call
The casting call for True Blood‘s second episode of season 3 just arrived in our inbox and features even more new characters to speculate about. This episode is titled “Beautifully Broken” and was written by our girl Raelle Tucker to be directed by Scott Winant.
Ready for some character spoilers?
In this episode we’ll meet Crystal Norris, a recurring character who is described as “mysterious and hauntingly beautiful”. She shares a connection with Jason but has no lines in this first appearance. In the books, Crystal is a resident of Hotshot, the local were community, who ultimately has a very strong connection to Jason. Also showing up for the first time in this episode is Calvin Norris, the 40-something leader of the community of Hotshot. Looks like we’re going down that road!
We’ll get a flashback to WWII Germany where we’ll see a Were-Bitch (female were) in her 20s or 30s. She pleads for help from American soldier Sergeant Kinney, then suddenly transforms.
Furthering the storyline with Sam’s search for his family, Melinda Mickens appears in this episode. She’s in her 50s and dirt poor. She’s hung-over and lives in a shanty, and she’s a strong recurring role. Joe Lee Mickens, Melinda’s husband, also shows up in this episode. He’s poorly educated but figures out Sam’s link to his wife.
Remember the private facility for the mentally impaired from our first round of spoilers? We’re back with Ruby Jean Reynolds, an African-American woman in her late 40s to early 50s is clearly deranged. She’s intensely religious and viciously homophobic. Wait a minute – “Reynolds”? “Homophobic”? Sounds like a Lafayette storyline is emerging.
Meanwhile, Tara gets into a confrontation with a pair of hillbillies, Shane and Kris, who disrespect someone who died recently (Eggs?). When one of the jerks refuses to apologize, Tara proceeds to beat him up.
And finally, we get a little insight into the biker gang previously mentioned as a character known as Creepy Biker is revealed as a werewolf and menaces Sookie. Too bad for him, she’s not the easy victim he anticipated.

i’m all types of stoked for the new season…. i’m so happy they’re “going down that road” with Hotshot, it’ll be great to see what they do with that town.

I read somewhere on here he doesn’t show up until episode 3…so that’s coming soon!

on the link posted on Crystals description it says “shares an electric connection with Jacob before disappearing into the trees” Jacob?..lol..someones got True Blood and Twilight mixed up..
Which is why it’s helpful to come to a site that actually knows about the show for your info.
Can’t wait! I’m really looking forward to seeing Hotshot or how they work it into the show.

Any word if Vin Diesel is going to play the part of Quinn?
They aren’t casting Quinn yet, and I doubt it will be a “name” actor once they do. Alan Ball prefers to go with relative unknowns for the supporting roles.
Ugh I hope not…nothing against Vin, but I just watched a movie with him in it last night and he’s just not right for the part. And I agree with Mel, it won’t be a “name” actor…
I think your right that Vin would wouldn’t be great as Quinn. I think Shemar Moore would be perfect for that in fact it is exactlly how I imagened him from the book. What do you all think.
I always think of the WWE wrestler Dave Batista when I picture Quinn. He’s 6’5″ and 290 pounds of solid muscle plus he’s got a natural tanned complection. He’s just perfect

Don Swayze has been cast as the biker/werewolf, “Gus”.
I hope they cast Jason Momoa as Alcide!!! I’m so into the Werewolves….Idk why no one is loving the Werewolves! Even in Twilight I am sooooo Team Jacob!
I have no idea who they’d cast as Quinn but I personally don’t care I want Sookie to end up w/ Alcide but hey that’s just me!
As far as the books go…I was thinking along the same lines…CH knows who that will be, so I can’t wait for the clues in the next book!!!!

I can’t wait for season 3 book 10 just ordered the short stories book released in October! I hope this HBO Series goes on as long as the novels continue!!! Real Good stuff here!!!!
im getting to excited! I can not wait to see who they cast as alcide!! Alcide is my favorite character and seeing him onscreen is what ive been waiting for since season one! also has anyone heard anything about how they are going to make the werewolves, cgi, costumes, real wolves??

Sounds good. I would still love to see Allan Hyde back in some capacity. He was wonderful as Godric. His part was just too short.
