Will Charlaine Harris Create a Spinoff?
In an interview with Augusta, Georgia’s Metro Spirit, Charlaine Harris gives us a glimpse of what she might do after Sookie’s story ends:
And the show is only on its third season. The characters have plenty of sexy stories left to tell, and Harris has plenty of books left to write. She plans 13, in all, of the Sookie chronicles, and will decide after book 11 whether to continue the universe by spinning off and exploring one of the other characters.
“I’ll know by then if I’m ready to head towards the stable with Sookie or not,” Harris said. “I’ve loved writing her adventures, but I don’t want it to get stale.”
After 13 books, Sookie’s story will most likely have reached a resolution, although what it will be is anyone’s guess. If Charlaine does decide to continue writing about the Sookieverse in a spinoff series, which character(s) do you think she’ll focus on?

Eric would have a thousand years worth of backstory to tell! I’d love read all about it!
I’d like to read about Eric after he was turned or Eric and Pam together before they met Sookie
I think Amelia and her capabilities of being a witch would make a great story, and CH has said that Amelia is one of her favorite characters. Also the story of Thalia, who is even older than Eric and somewhat of a “Rogue” vampire.
Ideally though? I think the continuation of Eric and Sookie’s life together and the many adventures they may face would be a number one best seller!
Eric, Pam would be extremely interesting also. I really should read the novels some more. Can anyone tell me where Godrics backstory is in the novels?
I could see several spin-offs, though I think she might get away from Vampires. Alcides and the whole wolf-pack thing. Amelia and witchcraft. The Hot Shot were-panthers.
I would read any and all spin-offs! Charlaine is a great writer, if it isn’t “stale” after 9 books, I doubt it will ever get old! I love Sookie, and I definitely wouldn’t mind the history of Eric and Bill or even Sophie-Anne Leclerq. They have such a long past, i’m sure they’d have many stories to tell!
