Win the True Blood Comic!
Did you know there was a True Blood comic? HBO passed them out at Comic Con 2008, before the show had debuted, to give potential viewers a little background on the show. We’d already launched our site and started talking about the show, so HBO gave us several extra copies of the comic to giveaway. Guess who found them when she moved a couple months ago?
Titled The Great Revelation, the comic chronicles the day vampires “came out of the coffin”, an event that isn’t covered in detail either in the books or on the show. It also contains eight pages of bonus material that includes an interview with Alan Ball.
How to Enter
We’re giving away ten (10) copies of the True Blood comic, along with an American Vampire League button and a Fangtasia matchbook, to ten (10) lucky winners. Here’s how to enter:
- Leave a comment below and tell us, did you read comic books as a kid (or now)? If so, what was your favorite?
- Be sure to use a valid email address when you comment, and don’t post your mailing address!
- Comments must be posted by 11:59PM Pacific on Thursday, February 11, 2010 to be eligible.

I started collecting comic books as a young adult when I started getting into Star Trek. I loved having the additional stories that gave background information that you didn’t get with reading the books or watching the series. Suddenly I needed to have them ALL!!
I collected all sorts of comic books, but I guess my very favorite one would have to be from a series that started me on collecting them, and that would be Star Trek Voyager. Wildstorm put out a Star Trek Voyager comic named False Colors that potrayed Seven of Nine on the front cover decked out in her borg gear.
I grew up reading Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Still do. I’ve added Dawn, Dark-Hunters, and Anita Blake to that now. I love going to Comic-Con and looking for new reads. By the time I’m done, I need a new bag to carry all the stuff I buy!
