Joe Manganiello Lands Lead in CBS Pilot “Livin’ On A Prayer”

THR is reporting that True Blood’s Alcide, played by Joe Manganiello, has been cast in the lead role on CBS’s new comedy pilot, Livin’ On A Prayer. Joe will play “a good-guy husband and dad who is a former high school football star.”

The show, generally about a couple and their friends in Pittsburgh, comes from How I Met Your Mother creators Craig Thomas and Carter Bays. Joe has been seen on such television shows as One Tree Hill and ER, and is in fact, an alum of HIMYM. Interesting to note, he is also a native of Pittsburgh.

I knew it wouldn’t be long before we would see Joe’s name everywhere, attached to multiple projects. Go Joe!
