Longwood house in Natchez, Mississippi filmed for True Blood season 3

Longwood in Natchez, Mississippi

True Blood crews filmed scenes from four episodes of season 3 in Natchez, Mississippi yesterday, according to The Natchez Democrat. Although the production crew would not comment on what was being filmed, a little speculation suggests that they were exteriors for scenes at the King of Mississippi’s estate. The crews were working at Longwood, an historic antebellum mansion in Natchez. The striking octagonal house seems ideal for the residence of the vampire king, although that is not confirmed.

Another interesting tidbit comes from this quote:

“They decided the series could go for a while, so they started buying set products to sell when the series ended,” Godfrey said. “The man who used to be with the Louisiana film commission is a Natchez native, and he got them up here antiques shopping.”

It sounds like the creative team behind True Blood are settling in for a nice, long run.

Im so jealous Im from natchez and worked at some of the antbellum homes growing up. The town really needed some attention the economy has hit them hard. So This definetly is good for the hotels and great for the community of Natchez and True Blood. To get to see this home on tv is great, cause its so gorgeous
