Official Synposes For First Three Episodes Of Season 3

HBO has released the official descriptions for the first three episodes of True Blood season 3, including a name change for the premiere:

TRUE BLOOD: Based on the popular Sookie Stackhouse books by Charlaine Harris, this hit drama series was created by Alan Ball, creator of HBO’s Emmy®-winning series “Six Feet Under.” The show tells the ongoing tale of Sookie (Golden Globe winner Anna Paquin), a waitress with telepathic gifts – and an irresistible attraction to 173-year old vampire Bill Compton (Stephen Moyer) who went missing at the end of season two.

With the assistance (and often hindrance) of locals – including her newly inspired brother Jason (Ryan Kwanten), shape-shifting boss Sam Merlotte (Sam Trammell), in-mourning pal Tara Thornton (Rutina Wesley), Tara’s vamp-linked cousin Lafayette (Nelsan Ellis),
on-the-wagon detective Andy Bellefleur (Chris Bauer), vampire sheriff Eric Northman (Alexander Skarsgård) and teen vamp Jessica (Deborah Ann Woll) – Sookie desperately tries to locate her fiancé as season three opens, ending up in a netherworld of human and undead interlopers, among them the Vampire King of Mississippi, Russell Edgington (Denis O’Hare) and his followers, a pack of vicious werewolves who feed on vampire blood.

Episode #25: “Bad Blood” (aka 301)
Sookie turns to Eric for help finding Bill; Andy urges Jason to stay the course; Sam reconnects with his past; Tara seeks refuge from her grief. (Written by Brian Buckner; directed by Daniel Minahan.)
Playdates: June 13, 15, 16, 19 and 30

Episode #26: “Beautifully Broken” (aka 302)
Russell Edgington, the Vampire King of Mississippi, concocts a plan to consolidate his power. Eric remembers his past; Sam tests the strength of his family bonds; Tara finds an ally in a shady vampire named Franklin Mott. (Written by Raelle Tucker; directed by Scott Winant.)
Playdates: June 20, 22, 23, 26 and 30

Episode #27: “It Hurts Me Too” (aka 303)

In search of Bill, Sookie heads to Jackson, Mississippi in the company of Alcide, a werewolf bodyguard assigned by Eric to protect her. Jason is distracted from his police exams; Bud reaches the end of his rope; Arlene copes with unexpected news; Franklin charms Tara, and gets Jessica out of a jam; Eric bequeaths a gift to Lafayette. Haunted by visions from his past, Bill makes a surprising pledge of allegiance. (Written by Alexander Woo; directed by Michael Lehmann.)
Playdates: June 27, 29 and 30

  1. Hmm…sounds pretty good so far, but I’m skeptical.

  2. Sounds good especially the Eric flashback. But I live in the UK and as such I’m gonna have to wait even longer. Arrrgh I can’t stand it anymore…….
    Waiting definitely sucks.
My Generation Kill and Seasons 1&2 dvds are gonna be worn out by the time season 3 gets here.

  3. This sounds okay. I just hope there isn’t a Saint Bill link to it all. AB needs to go ahead and start following the books better. Team Eric!! :)

  4. it needs to be exactly like the books, they are so much better. im reading dead in the family right now! :)

  5. So excited! They should be fantastic. I love how the show isn’t following the books, so everyone will keep being surprised with the show! Great way to to keep viewers tuned in.

  9. Hummana Hummana Hubba Hubba Whoo Hoo Awooooooooooooo !!!!! June 13th is still sooooo far away…. Does anyone know a vampire that can bite me into a coma untill then??

  10. The new season is soooo close! My friend pre-ordered Dead in the Family and now I’m waiting to borrow it, argh. But at least she’s going to let me use hers. Anyways, I agree with the others on Alan Ball needing to go more with the storyline in the books. Don’t get me wrong, TrueBlood is still AHHHHMAZING but there is that one thing in season 3 that sets off the rest of the book series. June 13th needs to hurry and come already!!!!!

  11. Oooh. Sounds good. I can now see how it’ll work out. :D Buh-Bye Bill. At least hopefully. **crosses fingers & prays**
