True Blood Halloween: The (Adult) Drinks

Today we’ve got some ideas to hydrate your party guests this Halloween. Pulled from ideas sent in by some very creative Truebies, here is a list of the top 10 alcoholic beverage ideas, using the Tru Blood beverage. Top 10 Tru Blood Cocktails

Name: Vampyre Tru Screw

A play on your typical screwdriver. Served these at my S3 premiere party! Total hit!

Rim tall glass (hi ball) with sugar (orange or cherry flavored/colored work nice too)

Fill glass with ice.
In a shaker, shake up 2 oz. of Vampyre Vodka (Clear or Red for a lovely color) and about 1/2 bottle of Tru Blood.

Fill glass almost full and add about 1oz. of fresh orange juice on top.

Garnish with red straw and slice of blood orange.

Name: Muertos

Muertos, the True Blood Cocktail for the non-living. Fresh, innovative, thirst quenching cocktail for the night walkers.

1.5 oz Reposado Tequila (smokey)
0.5 oz Aperol Italian Aperitif Liqueur
0.75 oz Fresh Lemon Juice
.25 oz Agave Nectar
3.0 oz True Blood

Need:
13 oz Collins Glass
Blood Orange for Garnish
2 pc. Boston Shaker
Strainer

In a 14 oz mixing glass, add:
Tequila, Aperol, Lemon Juice, Agave Nectar. Then Add ice.
Close with Tin, and shake 13 times.
Strain over fresh ice in the 13 oz Collins glass.
Fill with the True Blood Orange Soda.
Garnish: Long spiral Blood Orange Twist.
Place 3 thin slices of Blood Orange in glass in between ice.

Name: Frozen Transfusion

Need something to chill your blood? This icy red treat is like a sno cone with a kick! Try it if you dare…

1 bottle of Tru Blood
1 cup vodka
1 64 oz. container of cranberry juice cocktail
12 oz. frozen orange juice concentrate

Mix everything well. Pour into a lidded plastic container and freeze over night. Use an ice cream scooper to ladle into frozen martini glasses drip coated on the inside with red gel icing. Serve with a spoon.

Name: Bloody Desire

1.5 oz. TRU Organic Vodka
0.75 oz. Solerno Blood Orange liqueur
1 oz. Tru Blood Beverage
4 wedges Blood Orange
1 barspoon Organic Sugar
2 dashes Stirrings Blood Orange Bitters

Garnish: Blood Orange Spiral Twist
Method: Muddle 4 wedges of blood orange with 1 barspoon of organic sugar in a mixing glass. Pour bitters, Solerno liqueur, and TRU vodka into mixing the mixing glass with muddled blood orange and sugar. Fill with ice and shake vigorously. Strain into cocktail glass and top with Tru Blood Beverage. Garnish with blood orange twist.

1/2 a bottle of Tru Blood beverage
1 shot of absolute vodka
8 ounces of club soda
2 shots of rum
4 ounces of gingerale

Mix ingredients together and shake with ice. Serve in a chilled highball glass and garnish with mint to freshen the pallette for your next victim.

Name: The “Ravenscroft Sour”

In a Tom Collins glass, mix:

2 parts Tru Blood
2 parts Citron
1 part lemon juice
Splash of Grenadine

Name: Oh Sookie!

This drink is just like Sookie, sweet and spunky, yet it holds a powerful punch deep inside the glass so you have to be careful when exploring it’s depths.
:
1 oz 1800® Tequila
1 oz Grand Marnier® Orange Liqueur
1 splash sweet and sour mix
1 oz True Blood Beverage Drink
2/3 oz mandarin juice

Pour everything into a stainless steel shaker over ice, shake until cold then strain into glass over ice. Cherries or sweet mandarin wedges to garnish and serve in an Cocktail Glass or even Old-Fashion Glass for effect.

Name: “The King’s Companion”

This was inspired by the character of Talbot, Russell Edgington’s companion on True Blood. He’s a bit unstable, a bit exotic, and very delicious!

In a tall hurricane glass, combine ice, 1 cup True Blood, 2 oz. Bacardi Gold, 1 oz. Bacardi O, and a splash of grenadine. Top with a float of room temperature Bacardi 151. Take a flaming match to the float on top (carefully!) to light, then serve immediately.

Name: Bloody Sunset

A devious twist on a classic, especially for those night dwellers.

1 oz Tequila Silver
1/2 Lime Juice
3 oz. Tru Blood
1/2 oz. Grenadine
Ice
Liquid Nitrogen

In a shaker mix Ice, Lime Juice, Tequila and Tru Blood. Strain into Martini Glass. Then carefully pour in the grenadine down the side so that it stays at the bottom. To finish add a spoonful of Liquid Nitrogen to the top to give it a “fog covering the cemetery look”

Liquid Nitrogen is dangerous so please take proper precaution. Either serve with a straw or after the liquid nitrogen has dissipated.

Over ice in a large (24 oz or bigger) cocktail shaker pour in the vodka, Midori, and Schnapps (& if desired Grenadine) shake well to mix.
Next tilt shaker & add Tru Blood DO NOT shake to preserve carbonation.

1/2 oz. Viking Fjord Vodka
1/2 oz. Meyer’s Dark Rum
1/2 oz. Jose Cuervo Tequila

A dash of Sprite
1 1/2 oz True Blood

In a cocktail shaker combine the Whiskey, Vodka, Rum, Tequila and Amaretto. Stir lightly, then fill with Tru Blood. Add a splash of Sprite. Pour into a chilled cocktail glass and serve.
