True Blood Season 4: Who Is Hallow Stonebrook?

This is part 4 in our series of features about the new characters coming to True Blood in season 4. We’ll be taking a look at these new characters using both information from casting calls and from the novels on which the show is based. Beware, spoilers ahead!

Who Is Hallow Stonebrook?

True Blood season 4 is going to be all about witches, as HBO and Alan Ball have been telling us. Calling it “the season of the witch”, they started off with Holly (Lauren Bowles), then casting Hallow Stonebrook.  The part went to the fantastic Fiona Shaw, but what do we know about Hallow, aka Marnie?

The description we have for the show is a timid, self-loathing, z-list palm reader who is overtaken by the spirit of a real witch – Hallow – and becomes a powerful witch. The book’s description of her is  a witch and werewolf (who also drinks vampire blood), and was portrayed as being tall, slim and broad-shouldered with short brown thick hair and a design painted on her face. She’s a force to be wreckened with and a very real danger because of the vampire blood. She is the leader in her coven and blows into Shreveport to try and take over the vampires’ business and money, targeting Eric. She puts a spell on Eric, resulting in an arc in “Dead to the World” that fans have been waiting for since season 1.

Hallow In Brief

Sex: Female

Over-night fan (almost literally) of the Sookie Stackhouse series since early 2008. Co-owner of True-Blood.net. Anxiously anticipating season 6.
