True Blood Nominated in Genesis Awards

Genesis Award nominees were announced yesterday by the Humane Society of the U.S., and True Blood earned a nomination in the dramatic series category. True Blood goes up against episodes of USA’s Law & Order: Criminal Intent and NBC’s Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, which are also nominated in the same category. Winners will be announced on March 19. The event will also air as a one-hour special on Animal Planet in the spring.
The awards recognize “outstanding reporting and creative portrayals of animal protection issues in the news and entertainment media.”
