True Blood Fashion Q&A: “She’s Not There”

By  |  4 Comments

True Blood is back, and with all the character shenanigans comes an extensive wardrobe for us to covet. Costume designer Audrey Fisher is answering your True Blood fashion questions again this season, so let’s kick things off with some items from “She’s Not There”.

Q. Where do they get all  the cute dresses for  Sookie? – ElbaV23

A. Most of them are built in-house by Audrey and her team. Audrey prefers to make Sookie’s clothes herself as much as possible because she feels that her style is so specific.  The blue floral dress Sookie wore into Faeryland is one of those custom dresses.

Q. Pam’s clothes. It’s not a question, but a statement. 😀 – Jess Haines

A. I hear that! But since this is a Q&A column, let’s answer a question about one of Pam’s wardrobe pieces from the premiere. That cool “sliced” leather jacket she wears at Fangtasia is by Bebe. It’s from last year’s collection so isn’t available at retail outlets anymore, but keep an eye on eBay or consignment stores and you might be able to snag it.

Q. Nan looked amazing in that sheath dress during the interviews at Fangtasia. Who made it? – Chloe

A. I think Nan might give Pam a run for the money in the wardrobe department this year! Audrey reports that this was a gray Tahari ASL sheath dress and jacket made exclusively for Bloomingdales last autumn. It’s no longer available in stores, but might pop up on eBay.

NOTE: Here at the beginning of the season we’ll be seeing a lot of items that were sourced as long as 10 months ago and are no longer available. The gap between airdates and production will close swiftly, though, so don’t despair! Items we see in later episodes have a better chance of being in stores.

That’s a wrap for this week. Do you have a burning True Blood fashion question? Drop us a line or comment below and we’ll do our best to get the answer for you!
