Friday Five: Memorable Moments from Comic Con

I’m still not fully recovered from last week’s events at the 2011 San Diego Comic Con. Muscles still hurt, sleep loss not completely recovered and I’ve still got stories to write and photos and videos to post on our sister site, NiceGirlsTV.com. As I filter through all this information, the memories surface and some of them were awesome enough to make into a Friday Five.

  1. Getting my V fix with V-Moda headphones. These things are the best out there for music lovers. I’ve got the ReVamp earbuds and I’ve never heard such quality sound coming out of such a tiny instrument. Of course meeting and talking with founder/designer Val Kolton was added awesomeness. Look out, Bose!
  2. Becoming a Tartelette. What a treat it was to get a makeover from the talented ladies from Tarte Cosmetics. If you recall, Tarte is the company that produced the True Blood inspired makeup which included four different looks put together for you. They gave me the “Not Your Average Waitress” look, but I also tried the “Luminous Fairy” one. The other two options are “Vamp Glam” and “Vampy Vixen”. This is the best makeup I’ve come across. After having my makeover done, we ran around the rest of the day, ending in the hot tub back at our condo. The stuff never moved! It didn’t run or crease or smudge at all. I’ve volunteered to be the new spokesperson for Tarte.
  3. Meeting Kristin Bauer van Straten. We literally ran into Kristin as we were leaving Wired Lounge following our makeovers. Perfect timing, huh? She’s even more beautiful in person than on screen.
  4. The True Blood panel. These are always so entertaining. It’s always fun to watch the cast interact with each other off-screen. And we get some good spoilers as well!
  5. Meeting Truebies! The best part of Comic Con is picking out the True Blood costumes and getting to meet our readers. True Blood has the most interesting and passionate fans around. Wear it loud and proud, guys!

Over-night fan (almost literally) of the Sookie Stackhouse series since early 2008. Co-owner of True-Blood.net. Anxiously anticipating season 6.
