Dear Jessica, It Gets Better

Dear Jessica,

You poor dear, you’ve been through so much lately! Life with Hoyt hasn’t exactly been comfortable, has it? It just doesn’t seem like you can do anything right as far as he’s concerned. Knowing you, there has been no lack of trying on your part. Men can be so stubborn! But I’m here to tell you, it gets better. The first couple of years are always the hardest in any relationship. You’re young and you are both still getting used to living together. Maybe you should move back home with your dad for a while. Give yourself a chance at some breathing room between you and Hoyt. Just a thought.

I’ve been hearing rumors of a powerful witch in town. Listen, you all need to band together and run her out. She’s big trouble. Last town she was in, all the vampires just up and walked out into the sun for no apparent reason. It was pretty ugly, especially when there were strong winds blowing the ashes around so much it looked like an Arizona dust storm. You need to be on the look-out for yourselves. Get Bill in on the action. I’m sure he’ll have some ideas on how to keep you all safe. Whatever you do, if you hear the words “Go into the light, children. All are welcome!” don’t listen to them! Believe me, it’s not that little woman from “Poltergeist” trying to get you to ‘cross over’. This is big business.

I must run now, but remember my dear, sweet Jessica, for reals, it does get better.

Your friend,

Liz

P.S. Girl, your dad’s the KING! Squee! (I couldn’t resist.)
