True Blood Ratings: “Burning Down the House”

Battling for viewers against the VMAs, True Blood only fell two-tenths in the 18 – 49 demo. Even at that, the numbers were still very strong, boasting 5.3 million watching according to TVBytheNumbers. The numbers were similar with other shows in the same time slot; everyone slipped a bit.  So I have to ask: with the VMAs being utterly ridiculous, why was anyone watching at all? I just didn’t get it. :-\
