  1. In season 3 bill witnessed Sookie’s “light fingers” in front of Russell at Alcide’s apt. In Jackson. Eric seen her use her “light fingers” to rescue him from dying in the sun ( although he may have been preoccupied w/ frying ). Going forward, Nan has to go down. She watched Sookie do her “lightning trick”. I wouldn’t be surprised if Eric & Bill work together on this. Lastly, I’d like to see Holly survive the war, she makes an excellent friend for Tara.

Yes, I believe I mentioned that in the podcast. Thanks for commenting, Jules!

  2. What a great interview with Alex! So glad you were able to interview him. It shows how grateful he is to you and Liz on your hard work on this site. He seems so down to earth. I am so excited for him. Love him so much and the other actors. Great season. He just better not die off, or I may not be able to watch anymore. Mel, I was surprised at your interview skills…you were awesome and seemed to make him feel comfortable and made him laugh. Great job Mel. BTW, I heard a rumor that you and Liz are coming out with a True Blood Cook Book. Is this true???? Sounds like a cute idea and if so, why aren’t you promoting it more on your site? Ok ladies…love you both. You are awesome!

    • Awww, thanks Daisy. Alex is such an easygoing guy, it’s always a pleasure to chat with him.

Yes, that cookbook is one of our projects. We’re still writing it, so we haven’t wanted to talk about it publicly much. Don’t worry, when it comes time to release it, you’ll hear about it 24/7. ;)

      • super excited for that! :-)

      • I really hope that you use different recipes than what was in the companion. I was shocked that they used a cake mix to make the famous Caroline Holliday Bellfluer Chocolate Cake. It just seemed wrong. If you are taking submissions, I have come up with a few. If you post for them, I am sure many will be happy to help.

        • Thanks for the offer, Bethany. We already have around 175 “from scratch” recipes from our co-author, so we’re good to go. :)

      • Ok, well, thanks again for getting him on here for the interview. It was the best treat. And, even though TB will be ending soon (so sad) I have that new movie, Straw Dogs to see him in. From what I understand alot of people I know are going to go see it.
Can’t wait till Sunday. As always…thanks for all both you and Miss Liz do!

  3. steph at fangs wands and fairy dust

Great podcast, even my husband said how congenial and how much he spoke about acting, different characters, and the methodology.

My husband also wants to know if the curse on Pam was broken. He thinks that will get glossed over.

I think Bill saw Sookie’s power when they came upon Maryanne at her house. I don’t think Bill was with Sookie when Russel was with them, I think Eric was however.

    • Sookie first used her powers in season 2 against Maryann. Bill was there. Remember he asked her what was that on the ride back to Lafayette’s place. Also, Bill was at Elcide’s apartment when she used her powers against Cooter when Russell came after her. So, Bill has witness her using her powers at least twice before she used them on Eric.

  4. I agree that Nan has to go, and that probably Bill and Eric will team up to make sure that happens. They both love her, and both want to keep her safe more than anything. Besides, I think Nan has gotten on both of their nervese in plenty of other ways as well, so this is the perfect excuse. LOL

  5. Mel, thanks for pointing that out about Jesus auditioning for the other show. I heard about that, but I hadn’t put it together. I can’t agree that Hoyt is to blame. He fought to get her back, accepted all her differences, and cut off his nasty Mom for her (anyone with a bad mother in law knows how rare that is), and she repays all this by sleeping with his best friend. Re Sookie – I’m waiting until the finale before I get mad. If it looks like she’s leaning towards Bill at the end, I’ll probably be annoyed. I think the finale will hint towards Eric, though. Finally, I still think the terrifying character is Maryanne.

  6. Congrats on a cool interview – it’s really pleasing that Alex has been taking time out to chat to some of the fan sites, he must be so busy right now :)

I couldn’t help but LOL when one of you (I think it was Mel?) said during the episode review not to let that one Sookie moment ruin an awesome episode – because that’s exactyl what I have done. I’ve watched it 3 times now and I still can’t get past her bringing up the “B” word. At least I can now laugh at myself though so that must be a good sign?

    • Being able to laugh at yourself is indeed a good sign. :D Maybe when you watch the episode the fourth time, you can just fast forward through that scene and see how you feel about the other 99% of the ep?

  7. I was having a similar discussion with friends about the Jessica/Jason situation. They were of the mindset that Jason was wrong for asking Jessica to glamor him. But I had to point that Jessica was being a huge hypocrite. First, she sleeps with her Ex-boyfriend’s best friend the day after she broke up with him. Second, she had no problem glamoring Hoyt to avoid feeling guilty herself, but when Jason asks her it’s offensive, Come on? I know she’s a baby vamp, but that shouldn’t excuse her responsibility in this situation.

Loved the Andy, and Terry scenes! Those two where amazing! Tommy’s death broke my heart. And I really hope that the loved one coming back is Gran!

  8. Just found your podcast and site, just started watching True Blood in July (crammed all 3 seasons to get ready for season 4) and of course was an instant ADDICT. Thanks so much for the great podcast and discussions of the episodes. Just started reading the books last month, already on book 5! Can’t wait to hear what you say about the next episode (which I just watched).

I agree this has been a great season, definitely one of the best. I love the growth in characters this season, especially the control that Sookie is getting over her abilities, even her telepathy she’s been able to focus more and more. And I love how much of the shifter/Were storylines we are getting this season.

The only bit I don’t really like are the storylines they have for Jessica and Jason.

  9. just to add to eric and bill witnessing sookie’s microwave fingers…..bill also saw her magic with the manead….eric witnessed it with russell in the daylight…..if you mentioned this i do not hear it…. great interview with Alex….met him in NYC filming great great guy….
