Sexy Kevin Alejandro Talks Witches, Jesus and True Blood Fun

Collider sits down with Kevin Alejandro for an exclusive interview. Kevin talks about getting the news that he was joining the cast, Jesus’ development and relationship Nelsan Ellis. There are no season finale spoilers, of course.

Did the fact that the relationship between Lafayette (Nelsan Ellis) and Jesus is not in the books and therefore wide open in its development, help in making this role less nerve-wracking, since there were no preconceived notions about this character?

Alejandro:  I think so. And the way they’ve written both Jesus and Lafayette, just leaves more room for people to form an audience relationship with them and grab onto the characters.

I think Kevin Alejandro has done wonders with Jesus’s charecter so far. It’s great to see two sides to every charecter this season, and the charecter of Jesus allows us to see another side to Lafayette. Now LaLa has something real in his life, not just some relationship based off of a hustle to get money.

I hope they keep Jesus as a regular for a long time to come. He’s rare in a similar way that Sookie is- supernatural yet incredible genuine and good-hearted. We don’t see that in vamps, weres, some faries, or witches.

Love Kevin Alejandro! He is so awesome as Jesus. I started crying when he was crying in that scene with his grandfather and asking him why he put his life in danger. Kevin is a very powerful actor! All the actors are super on the show!

He was awesome in the last scene when Marnie possessed Lafayette. He gave Lafayette short answers but you could see in his eyes how he really felt about the whole Marnie death thing. He is an incredible actor.
