SPOILERS: True Blood Season Finale Gets Lethal (POLL)

By  |  80 Comments

WARNING: If you want to go into True Blood‘s season finale spoiler-free, then stop reading!

We have a minor, but chilling, spoiler from TVLine:

Question: Any True Blood scoop ahead of Sunday’s finale? —Scott
By the end of the hour, the show will be down at least one series regular.

Dun dun dunnnnnn! Who do you think will be the series regular who bites the bullet (or the stake)?

UPDATED 09.07.11: As has been pointed out in the comments, Debbie isn’t a series regular (her name doesn’t appear in the opening credits), so technically she shouldn’t be on this list. Assuming Ausiello knows she’s not a regular. We’ll leave her name in the poll, but keep that in mind when you vote.

    Debbie isn’t a series regular.

    • Jacob

      September 6, 2011 at 10:48 pm

I agree. Also, since when were Hoyt, Jesus, Arlene and Terry considered Series Regulars? I mean, maybe I’m wrong but I didn’t think they were.

      • Mel

        September 7, 2011 at 9:21 am

A series regular is someone who’s name is in the opening credits, and all four of those actors are in the opening credits.

      • sophia

        September 13, 2011 at 3:21 pm

series regulars mean that there names are in the beginning credits and hoyt jesus arlene and terry’s names are all there

    • Steph

      September 11, 2011 at 11:36 pm

      1. Jesus
      2. Tara
      3. Debbie

      It sucks 🙁

      • Steph

        September 11, 2011 at 11:38 pm

        also Nan.

i wish they didn’t kill tara and jesus

  2. legalease

    September 6, 2011 at 11:00 pm

All of the people listed in the opening credits are series regulars. Can we choose more than one? Because the spoiler says “at least” one series regular. We’ve already lost Tommy and Marnie and my money is on Jesus, Hoyt, and Nan dying in the finale. I think Tara will be shot by Debbie but will be turned, possibly by Pam.

    • Mel

      September 7, 2011 at 9:22 am

Good catch, legalease. The poll has been up too long to change it now, but next time I’ll accommodate those sneaky “at least one” type comments. 😉

    • bryant

      September 12, 2011 at 10:39 am

good point with tara not sure if sookie would let her just die after saving her but i think pam will set Russell Edgington free

  3. T

    September 6, 2011 at 11:25 pm

I wonder if they mean someone else other than Debbie. We all know Debbie will be offed because of the book and the split-second clip of her holding a gun. They won’t shock me. Any OTHER than Debbie will shock me. Can’t wait til Sunday!

  4. Jessica

    September 6, 2011 at 11:30 pm

Excellent poll! I also think it will be someone other than Debbie because AB said it was a character we “know and love.” We may love to hate Debbie, but does that really fit?

    • LeAnne

      September 7, 2011 at 6:53 pm

once again I agree with ya Jessica :)… I love this site and all of the True Blood talk, polls, spoilers…. ect! I like the actress and thought Debbie brought something to the show, however they have made it clear that she will die trying to kill Sookie. I am thinking the “know and love” regular is Jesus… I don’t want it to be so!!!! 🙁

  5. Melva

    September 7, 2011 at 12:13 am

I think it will be Lafayette. In the books his charecter was gone long time ago. They may be tired of trying to come up with story lines for him. Or Jessica.. I like her but she was a made up character.

    • roxanne

      September 9, 2011 at 7:52 am

any one they get rid of is gunna make me cry i love all those ppl listed but i think its going to shock and piss us all off. Lafayette is dead in the books but then again there not really going by the books

  6. Jen

    September 7, 2011 at 5:04 am

I’m worried it’s Lafayette too! It may be the only way to get rid of Marni

    • casey

      September 7, 2011 at 8:18 am

i think so too!! as much as i hate to see him go 🙁

  7. Morgan

    September 7, 2011 at 5:25 am

I bet it’s Tara. Debbie confronts her and Sookie, wasn’t it with a rifle in the preview?, and probably shoots Tara. It’s my guess, but… Well, either that, or it’s Jesus… I just can’t see them killing Lafayette. Besides, Nan is a regulat this season too… So maybe Eric rips out her heart?

    • casey

      September 7, 2011 at 8:19 am

nan should have went along time ago…she just annoys me….yuk

so agree i hate that b…..

  8. Ron E.

    September 7, 2011 at 5:47 am

I wouldn’t include people like Debbie and Jesus as series regulars. I think of regulars as people who have been around since season 1. Shouldn’t Andy be on the list too (although I highly doubt he’ll die since it appears they are setting up an Andy/Fairy plotline for next season)?

I can’t believe it’ll be Tara since she somehow survived to this point.

The person who makes the most sense is Lafayette. It’s clear that having a medium around is too big a threat to everybody else since he can be taken over by spirits like Mavis or Marnie at any moment. He needs to die for the greater good.

    • casey

      September 7, 2011 at 8:20 am

i am confused about mr andy…..did the fairy give him “light”?????????????

      • roxanne

        September 9, 2011 at 7:53 am

I dont know i think she binded him to her. that confused me

        • Nikie

          September 12, 2011 at 10:40 pm

I think him promising to protect her is gonna come back to seriously bite him in the butt lol

    • Mel

      September 7, 2011 at 9:20 am

A series regular is someone who’s name is in the opening credits. Doesn’t matter how long they’ve been around. That said, Debbie is actually listed as a guest star so technically shouldn’t be on the list. My mistake!

      • summer

        September 7, 2011 at 10:10 am

Maybe the person who quote da “series regular” will be offed, forgot that Debbie was listed as a “guest star?’

Just saying, everything that comes out of someone’s mouth isn’t technically right, right? 🙂

        • Mel

          September 7, 2011 at 10:15 am

Yep, that’s what I wrote in the update to the post above.

    • bryant

      September 12, 2011 at 11:00 am

notice on the finale how andy’s new girl is dressed as a fairy for Halloween

  9. Bethany

    September 7, 2011 at 6:33 am

Jessica is a “series regular” I guess. Debbie should be the one to go, just to keep that thin idea of the books alive. I agree, Debbie is more of a recurring role, not regular.

  10. Brian

    September 7, 2011 at 6:55 am

As much as I’d hate to say it, I think Lafeyette might be killed off. He’s probably one of the top three best characters but his newfound power as a medium not only makes him very dangerous but odds are, his story as a medium would continue on and on so it wouldn’t be a one time plot detail. I think Hoyt might be killed, too. Debbie is definitely on her way out.

I’m also thinking Crystal might show up and/or be killed but she isn’t the only one who would be hiding under a red cloak like that, right? Could Sarah Newlin playing Red Riding Hood for all we know.

    • casey

      September 7, 2011 at 8:21 am

what why do u think hoyt will b killed? i guess without jess really no use for him…would like to see good brawl between him and jason over jess.

  11. Kate

    September 7, 2011 at 7:19 am

I think we have to stop going by the books. The show is just based on the books, which I personally like better. I love Lafeyette and Jessica, and even though I love Eric I do love Sookie with Bill.

    • Windy

      September 7, 2011 at 9:03 pm

I love Sookie with Bill too! 🙂

    • Nikie

      September 12, 2011 at 10:42 pm

The more they work on it the further away from the books they get but i will be seriously disappointed to have quinn not come into the series here very soon.

  12. casey

    September 7, 2011 at 8:24 am

this season has me all rowled up. at first i was against sookie and eric but eric somehow managed to steal my heart. ha ha…personally i would love to see debbie, nan, and maybe even jesus go..i just dont see the show going on without sookie, bill, or eric!!!!!!!!!!

  13. Jules

    September 7, 2011 at 9:41 am

I still think it’s Jesus, the plot setup seems to make sense. Also, figuring it’s a character we like. Hoping Debbie goes she has no purpose other than a final showdown w/ Sookie. And of course Nan, she’s a character I love to hate.

  14. Carrie

    September 7, 2011 at 9:45 am

What about Nan who became a regular this season?

Is Hoyt’s mom listed as a guest star or a regular? I wouldn’t mind seeing her go. Some love her, because she is crazy, and other’s hate her for the same reason!!

    • Mel

      September 7, 2011 at 10:14 am

      She’s a guest star.

    September 7, 2011 at 10:18 am

I think Terry is going to be one of the dead. Look at next week’s preview at him. He looks kinda zombie-ish. Also in the same scene, if you go slow motion, there is a guy in the background who looks like something is sticking out ofof his head

    • Jen

      September 7, 2011 at 10:26 am

It’s a Halloween party – Terry is dressed as a zombie, and so is the guy behind him. Remember seeing Holly in the Fairy costume?

  17. Amy

    September 7, 2011 at 10:28 am

I think it will Lafeyette. I hope this doesn’t happen! His character is so likable and he is Tara’s cousin. If you watch the clip for next week, notice that Lafeyette(Marni) is wearing the blue garment and then flashes to the demon’s head wearing the same blue garment. I think he takes in Jesus’ demon and utlimately has take out Marni with this demon and never really comes back or doesnt survive. Just a guess.

  18. Ellie

    September 7, 2011 at 2:13 pm

I read somewhere yesterday, that it’s someone ‘who thinks they are very, very powerfull’. I think Debbies definately out. Maybe Jesus/Laffy, but honestly, my best bet is Bill. Cuz I also watched the ‘inside the episode’ for ep 11, and they were speaking of Pam defying Eric and they said this might be shown throughout into next season, because of having allmost killed Sookie. I also, think it MIGHT be Nan. Here’s hoping.

  19. Granna

    September 7, 2011 at 2:43 pm

Sadly, I think that Jesus will be one of those leaving. Jesus seems deeply disturbed by Marnie’s death and the part he played in the events that led up to it. Once he realizes that Marnie has taken over Lafayette, I think that he will turn to his family’s dark magic to set Lafayette free. All of these events are just too much for him and I think he leaves to try to “figure things out”.

Leaving does not necessarily mean dying …

  20. B. Williams

    September 7, 2011 at 2:46 pm

This is speaking as someone who started watching the show. then in off seasons read the books lol but Lafayette is kinda central to whats been happening all throughout this series. I could see hoyt terry or arlene killed off way easier because they aren’t AS involved in whats happened overall. Plus Terry’s line to Andy in ep 9 sealed his fate for me. “I got a wife, a LIFE, and a baby to love and you got nothing, and nobody.” Also things are great for terry. cant get any better. and as you all know (well some who watched buffy know the best) The second a character is happy or content….they gotta die. Joss Whedon was the king of this. IMHO
Also i feel debbie and nan are shoe ins to die too but im thinking bout the beloved person death and terry fits that bill to me. Too bad Bill cant die lmao

  21. mbb

    September 7, 2011 at 3:33 pm

this is stressing me out. Can’t it just be Dean the Dog that dies?

    • Linda

      September 12, 2011 at 11:11 pm

wouldn’t Dean the dog be Sam? As that was the name Sookie gave Sam when he was in his dog form after she found out he was a shapeshifter..

  22. Devi

    September 7, 2011 at 3:36 pm

I think Nan’s leaving for sure (they would execute her for not being able to reign-in Louisiana/Bill). Even Eric has said last episode that her time is up. But I can also see Jesus sacrificing himself somehow to exorcise Lafayette. Like mb taking Marnie’s evil spirit into himself before dying. That would be really sad and unfair but I think it would give Lafayette’s character another facet for further seasons, dealing with that loss. I really didn’t like how harsh Eric was to Pam and would totally be heartbroken if she was to go but I doubt it would be her (fingers crossed). So my thinking is that Nan, Jesus or Lafayette, Debbie (of course), and possible Jessica (or Hoyt).

    • Ellie

      September 9, 2011 at 5:41 pm

I think this sounds like the most likely scenario. I really hope it’s not Jessica. I cant wait for the finale, it’s like waiting for Christmas.

  23. thisoldbroad

    September 7, 2011 at 3:51 pm

Sadly, I think it’s Terry. Remember his old army buddy is coming to town for the finale & I hope it’s not for Terry’s funeral. Poor Arlene – if it weren’t for bad luck she’d have no luck at all..

  24. Krystle

    September 7, 2011 at 5:26 pm

I think Debbie, Nan, Jesus :(, and possibly Hoyt will be included in the declining population of Bon Temps. Wouldn’t it be cool if there was a tiger sighting in the finale to set up the Quinn story.

    • KB

      September 7, 2011 at 5:54 pm

Or even better an Elvis sighting
on Halloween. Bubba!!!!! A vampire or two will die. Marnie is very powerful on Halloween. She will probably be able to kill a vampire or two. I dunno which regular vampire….. But for sure Nan!!!

      • Mel

        September 7, 2011 at 9:36 pm

Ha! Wouldn’t that be hilarious if we got a “Bubba” sighting on Halloween?

  25. Sarah

    September 7, 2011 at 6:43 pm

I bet it’s Terry; Arlene has horrible luck with men. And since it’s AB, I bet Debbie will actually choose the “good” side even though Alcide abjured her. The clip of her shooting the gun might just be them trying to throw the book readers off.

    • robyn

      September 9, 2011 at 7:46 am

they are already setting up Terry’s story line for season 5 so its not Terry

      • Nikie

        September 12, 2011 at 10:47 pm

I cant wait to see what happens with all that. drew/renae almost seemed like a good guy in the finale like he was trying to keep her and the baby safe.

  26. LeAnne

    September 7, 2011 at 7:06 pm

I think there would be wayyyy to many people upset if they killed off LaLa or Tara…. Nelson has made this character and stole our hearts! Debbie for sure, Nan and Jesus. Possibly Terry but there are alot of Terry fans as well. Can’t wait until Sunday so we can see how all of the predictions (sp?) faired!!! Lots of great ideas 🙂

  27. LeAnne

    September 7, 2011 at 7:09 pm

I think there would be wayyyy to many people upset if they killed off LaLa or Tara…. Nelson has made this character and stole our hearts! Debbie for sure, Nan,Possibly Terry. I would LOVE to see Bubba, but AB said he will not be writing Bubba in 🙁

    September 7, 2011 at 7:40 pm

I don’t care who dies as long as they “get to kill sh*t” lol. Of course they can’t get rid of sookie, eric, bill nor pam. It might be jesus or lafy to bite the dust, jmo.

  31. shannon

    September 7, 2011 at 10:05 pm

Its definately not terry..alan ball said he has a continuing story line for terry and his platoon leader (played by scott foley) in season 5.

    • shannon f

      September 11, 2011 at 3:08 pm

i think it will be terry…..the whole s/l being set up with his army buddy is that his army buddy helps arlene….i think terry bites the dust and his platoon buddy stays around to help her through her loss next season

  32. chatauna

    September 7, 2011 at 10:48 pm

after reading all ya’lls comments… have any of you read the books… i know alan ball has the ability to change things, within reason… like lafayette still being around ( doesnt make it past book 1) but come one ya’ll…. lol…

you will see ms. pelt die a death from a shot gun at the hands of none other than ms Sookie herself.! the reasons are obvious if your paying attention. 🙂

  33. Genius

    September 7, 2011 at 10:53 pm

Its obvious sookies going to die come back as layfeyette and continue relationships with both Eric and Bill. Since both are bisexual niether of them will mind.

      Lol, hilarious!!!

  34. Brooke

    September 8, 2011 at 12:13 am

I think it will be Hoyt, now that his not with Jess I think all his storylines are exhausted and he is only linked to about 3 characters!

  35. Adrian

    September 8, 2011 at 10:17 pm

I’d be surprised if Debbie is not killed but I think Nan will be killed as well. It looked like she was trying to off Bill and Eric. The Magister was already killed so she would be next…paving the way for someone new from “The Authority” to come onto the scene.

  36. Lauren E

    September 9, 2011 at 2:09 am

I doubt it would be Lala. Even Charlaine herself has said that after seeing the show she wishes she had kept Lala around and commends AB for doing it. Plus Nelson has been nominated for awards and he is such a big character for equal representation that I doubt they would kill him. He is too interesting and talented of a character for them to do away with him. Maybe wishful thinking on my part, but I really doubt it would be him.

I know that Kristin (spelling??) Pam’s actress is filming a movie right now and supposibly has another lined up, I’m hoping she isn’t doing this bc she has a lot of free time (ie: because she’s the unlucky one to die.) She’s just way too awesome to go!

Ugh, now I’m all nervous about this episode! :-/

  37. zombiedarling

    September 9, 2011 at 4:40 am

I hope Tara is one of them, she is by far one of the most annoying characters in a series for me- I don’t know how she’s stayed around for so long. Franklin should have turned her or killed her when he had a chance. Im agreeing with the masses about nan and Debbie though, Debbie just has it coming and it’s been said The King is coming back, so kill her off and that’d make room for Russell to bump bill down a notch and put him in his place. Also WTH happened with crystal? Not that I miss that storyline and the characters but it’s just weird how it instantly vanished. Also I could see Hoyt finding out about jess/jason and going postal in which Jason or someone else, during self defence would kill him.

  38. Angie

    September 9, 2011 at 6:43 am

Could “death” mean human death only? The person turns into a vampire to keep them on the show. I know some hate Tara, but I love the character. She’s in my top five along with Lala, Eric, Bill, and Sookie.

    • Mel

      September 9, 2011 at 10:04 am

My read of that scene was that she couldn’t go through with having sex with Marcus and he was trying to talk her into it by telling her it was something more, not just revenge.

  39. Josie

    September 9, 2011 at 9:28 am

I think it is Jesus. He is in the running for the new detective in SVU. I don’t want it to be him, but TV Guide says to get your hanky out. And I can see an emotional good bye with Jesus leaving. I would not nearly be as upset if it were Hoyt or Jessica. (but with Jessica, you could see Jason and maybe Bill being upset). I can not see an emotional good bye with Debbie or Nan. I just wish there were more spoilers. 🙂

  40. B. Williams

    September 9, 2011 at 11:33 am

It would be a very cool twist if any of the beloved humans we know were turned. Three cool picks would be Jason, Tara, (cant believe I’m saying this) but I would love to see Jesus become a vamp. On a side note i miss people like the magister the queen and even lorena. did we have to lose three (four if you count russell edgington) bad ass vamps in one season. hell like 5 eps really:( cant wait til the season finale. im watching all the seasons again til finale.

  41. Sammy

    September 9, 2011 at 10:15 pm

I wish nobody was “going” but I have a feeling it’s Jesus. I think trying to do the excorsism thing he does like what he did to Mavis-will kill him because of the stress/effort involved. I hope not cause I love him and Lala together!

  42. jj

    September 11, 2011 at 11:35 pm

Alan Ball is not going to off any important series regulars. He is to chicken to do that. I would say this to him also.
