True Blood Fashion: Florals for Sookie, Luna & Jessica

By  |  6 Comments

Nothing says summer like a pretty floral print, and the ladies of Bon Temps are all over that look. In this week’s True Blood fashion column, costume designer Audrey Fisher tells us where she found the floral items worn by Sookie, Luna and Jessica that you’ve been wondering about this season.

Q. Do you know where Sookie’s flowered shirt from “Burning Down the House” came from? I can’t find it anywhere and I need it! – Delia

A. We’ve seen a lot of queries about this top out on Twitter and in the comments. It is adorable! Audrey picked it up at Nordstrom in their Brass Plum (Juniors) section last spring.  Unfortunately that means it’s out of stock now, but Sookie’s mustard yellow cardigan is back!

Q. In the past two episodes, Janina was wearing a floral shirt that I MUST know who made it! Any info will be appreciated! – The Ren

A. Luna’s shirt is by American Rag Cie, from the Macy’s Juniors section. That exact top is no longer available in stores, but here’s a peasant top in a similar print and a different print on a similarly cut top. Or (all together now!) you can head to eBay or a consignment store like Plato’s Closet and try your luck.

Q. I’d love to know more about the dress Jessica wore in her scene with Jason in episode 4×9… or anything about Jessica-related fashion, really. I adore how Audrey styles Deb! Thanks. – Karen

A. It looks like Audrey is having a lot of fun dressing Jessica, doesn’t it? This sweet sundress (love the little heart buttons) is a custom creation. Audrey designed it and her team made it in-house, so it’s not available for purchase. However! I did pass along that fans have been disappointed to hear that so many of the pretty dresses we see on screen are custom, so Audrey is aware that there’s a desire to have her designs accessible to the masses. We’ll see if anything comes of that, but in the meantime, this dress would a good sewing project, don’t you think?

That’s a wrap for this week. We have a slew of additional items to source for you in the next couple of weeks, but if you have a burning True Blood fashion question, drop us a line or comment below and we’ll do our best to get the answer for you!
