Kevin Alejandro Discusses Emotional Finale

Kevin Alejandro compared his True Blood character’s demise to that of Detective Nate Moretta on SouthLAnd. “My phone’s been blowing up. The ones that I’ve worked with have been like, ‘Great job!’ and the ones that didn’t know [the twist] – it was another sort of ‘Southland’ effect.”

Kevin has known since early in the season that Jesus wouldn’t make it out of Bon Temps alive. He told Access Hollywood that it was actually his idea to have Lafayette do the dirty deed. “It was, actually. I thought it would be interesting. The direction that they put the characters in [was] so ‘in love,’ where we balance each other out.”

Kevin talked about filming that scene with Nelsan Ellis and the emotions that were on set that day. He also doesn’t rule out a possible return next season, maybe to aid Lafayette as he learns to use his power.
