SPOILERS: Season 5, Episode 1 Title

The title for the first episode of season 5 has been uncovered and it sure does wake the speculation monster! Who does it refer to? Jason? Tara? Someone else?

Which song do you think they’ll use for it? The Byrds’ version? Judy Collins? Or is there a newer version out there that I’ve never heard before? Am I asking too many questions?

The title is “Turn! Turn! Turn!”. What say you, Truebies?

  1. Oh my, it’s only October, I did not realize how hard (waiting) this was going to be. I really hope it’s Tara. I know others have pointed out that vamps would end up monopolizing the show if everyone is turned and who would represent the humans. I see their point, but I think Tara would make a strong, resourceful, take names later kinda vamp, also on the positive, the whining would cease. I would love to see how she deals with this scenerio, ( should it happen ). As for Jason, at this point in the show I really like him and don’t want him to be forever connected to hotshot, I’d like him to remain human. I can’t wait to find out… Oh on a side note, if Tara is turned I hope she doesn’t become the new bartender for Fangtasia ;)

    • Debbie… she’s a V addict…good chance she had V in her system when she got shot.

    • I had to grow to like Tara and I actually think the “whining” (I’m not even sure I’d call it whining, more like self loathing) hasn’t been around since S2…. With that said as much as she hates vampires if she is turned we ain’t seen/heard nothin’ yet as far as “whining” goes.

      • Some see it as whining ( she is the only human running around declaring how much she hates Bon Temps, vampires, supernaturals, etc), however, I meant eventually, if she were to be turned, she would oddly enough find some peace. Initially, yes, I see her losing it over having to come to terms with her new self, but I feel she would be liberated and view it differently once she is free of her human baggage, anger, resentment. Thus ending the “whining”.

    • maybe its tara jason and sombody new !!!!!!!!! turn turn turn

  2. OMG I can’t believe they’ve done this already.
Must be Tara, no it must be Jason, no Sookie will turn round and go back to Eric and tell him that after reading the survey results on True-blood.net she thinks they should get married and live happily ever after.

I hope they use the Byrds version but they might even re-record the song specially for the episode like they did with Nick Cave & Neko last season.

    • why would u put her back with Eric …don’t give me wrong i would pick Eric over Bill anyday but seein her with Eric was to much for me ..a lil to dead…. and Bill does nothing about it i love seein Eric make bill mad

      • Well for one…..eric loves her…..I believe she really does love him too…..who should she be alcide?,…..boring as bell…..Sam? Boring too and certainly not bill……so why not?…..we haven’t see her with “real” Eric yet in a relationship.

  3. Tara would be such a horrifically self-loathing vampire, considering how much she hates them.

    • Yeah I think it’s gonna be a rough season for Tara if it’s her. Good for Rutina though she’ll get to show-off her acting skills and she will need to bring it.

      • I just think Tara must be turned in order to,stay physically alive in TB…..also Jason I think will be turned eventually too otherwise the hotshot stuff was for nothing……that what makes this show endless possibilities…..

  4. I think it would be Tara probably….what if Eric is the one who she hates does it for sookie…that would be a trip to say the least?

    • She’s not keen on Bill either although he did save her life at the graveyard. My initial thought is Eric as they already gave Bill this story-line with Jessica. Mixed feelings if it is Eric as I don’t want anything to take away from the special bond he has with Pam, but on the plus side it would keep him closer to Sookie. (Tara could even live in Eric’s cubby in her house).
Is there a possibility that both vamps could turn her – both give her their blood and she would have 2 dads? Not sure if that would work. Of course it’ll probably end up not being Tara.

      • But also Sookieleana, its kinda in a weird way fits with them showing how Eric turned Pam because he turned Tara too…Pam and Tara as sisters…..oh no that is funny and, scary at,the same time.

        • Exactly, Pam and Tara would definitely have some sibling rivalry.. considering Pam was not allowed to kill her. Lots of friction for sure.

        • It could be an Eric family get-together with Nora and Ghost Godric there as well.

Don’t forget thought that whilst often we see everything Eric-centric I don’t think Alan Ball would let Bill miss out on being part of the action, he will be involved in some way.

Maybe the title will be a red herring :) it’s going to be a long winter.

  5. I also think Eric hide and bury Debbie’s body which I believe will happen as well.

  6. I’m thinking it will be Eric who turns Tara b/c he hears Sookie’s screams. The casting calls have already been sent out for two women, one of whom is Eric’s sibling…. I imagine the whole reason she comes to town is because Eric has created a new vampire sibling for Pam. Meanwhile, Pam is already so pissed that she has dug up Russell Edgington so he can kill Sookie… so a new sibling will push Pam over the edge causing her to call Eric’s sister to town whoooo is a higher up in the AVL! How about that?!

  7. If the show followed the books, then it will be Jason turning into a werepanther. I really wish they would follow the books more closely — then we’d see much more of Eric-Sookie action!

  8. I want to say Tara, but then I feel like that’s too obvious!

I think it would just be the most messed up storyline, but in the best way! I’ve been thinking since the finale, if Eric comes and turns her (one or both of them have to come, they’ll feel her fear, right?), it would open up so many stories about rivalry with Pam etc, particularly after Eric dissing her so hard last season.

And it does just seem so Alan Ball-esque to mess with his characters like that…turning Tara into the one thing she hates most, increasing Pam’s jealously tenfold (particularly considering how much she hates Tara), and possibly making Sookie jealous from a new maker-protege intimacy between Tara and Eric!

The possibilities are just fantastically endless. My mind is boggling. :) Thanks so much for the update!!

  9. Also, as if they release the title this early. That’s just cruel. “Hurts so good” :)

  10. I predict it will be Tara, Steve Newlin explained, Pam’s history shown, and mabye Jason finally turns into a werepanther! Thats alot of “Turning”.

    • Yeah I agree with all your premises…..I think Eric, will be involved with Tara being turned and then reflects on turning Pam as well. Steve newlin will obviously reflect on how and who turned him….

  11. Oh, I forgot to add; I think Jason should turn into a werepanther at the “New Moon” not the full moon, since he’s made not born.

  12. I hope its tara and jason i’d be dissapointed if jason didnt go the way of the werepanther and i think tara would be a good self loathing vampire as she could do the whole working for the felowship thing like in the books ala jake the were to vamp rhodes thing

  13. Of course, it could just be about the one we already know– Steve Newlin.

  14. Out of curiosity I just looked up the wiki article on the song and found out about the origins of the lyrics, I didn’t know it was entirely adapted from the bible. Interesting, what with the introduction of Salome as a bible character and all…don’t know if that’s reading too much into it, but something to think about!

  15. If Tara does get turned…… it might not “turn” out so well…. Anyone remember “Bubba” from the Sookie books? He was turned when his system was addled with drugs and barely alive. He “turned” into a sort of… “mentally disabled” vampire who was shuffled back and forth between the higher up’s only due to his celebrity status as a former human. Tara – even if she is turned – with her brains blown out, might not be the same Tara we are used to…. But this show is so wildly off track from the books, you never know what will happen..! ;)
