By  |  5 Comments

In this week’s True Blood Radio podcast, we analyze the results from our first annual True Blood fan survey. In addition to the numbers we shared on the site, Liz and Mel discuss what those numbers tell us about fans and the show itself.

Actually what I think is interesting about the Bookie/Trubie question is that it shows how many people, while not book purists, have actually read the books. Based on those numbers I’d say the book readers watching the show are WAY more than 5% as it was famously said.
Also. the result is not that surprising if you think about it, since by now any harcore book purists would have just stopped watching altogether.
Book readers who still watch do accept that the show can’t be an exact replica of the books, even when they wish some basic developments were kept at least recognizable.

As for the “surprising” Sookie suitor preferences, not surprising at all really… actually I suspect Eric/Sookie would have been even higher if so many people weren’t put off by the handling of their relationship this season.

Duh! We missed that obvious conclusion, Trixie!

Yesterday I did a real long comment for here but it isn’t showing. I won’t try again but I just wanted to say thanks for doing this survey and explaining it all to us. The 1-10 rating is a great way to go and really makes you think. You questioned Eric’s story-line being so popular but people were complaining about it – I think it was mainly the end of it that sent Team Eric into meltdown. They way they had Sookie callously reject him. Memory loss Eric himself was very, very good.
I agree with you about Sophie-Ann, she and Sookie didn’t even get a scene together 🙁
Thanks again for taking the time to do this. I look forward to comparing it to next years.
