That’s a lovely chat with Kristin, I say chat as she never sounds like she is doing a work interview.
I am surprised, and disappointed, that she hasn’t read the source material. I would be very interested to know if Anna has read them . I hope she has. Sounds like there is nothing set yet about Pam and Sookie, just a feeling Kristin has. Hopefully her feeling will be realized.

Kristin has said many times that she chose not to read beyond the first book because she didn’t want to have what happens in the books conflicting with what’s happening on the show. It’s her method as an actor.

I think you guys have confused Salome with Nora, in the casting calls it says that Salome is ancient, but Nora is centuries old…

@sookieelena: I think AB said to the cast members that they shouldn´t read the books and I think that Kristin really gets her character and also she gets information from her husband who reads the books and talks to fans who have read them.

Paquin also has just read the first book or something like this (at least I read that in some interview) so she also doesn´t know more about the source material, but I think especially for her character who is the central character from the books it would have been important to read the source material to get a better understanding of her character. But True blood sookie has become so different to book sookie, I cannot even see them as similar anymore, they kind of managed to make her less likeable on the show, I like book sookie so much more… I hope they change something about this…

Your making good points Laura, I want to see them have Sookie actually be single and look and make a decision on what she wants and whom she wants in her life romantically, but if they have date or hook up with Alcide……that makes her look bad to me. I think they the writers will unfortunately do this and it will have a more negative opinions from a lot of the fandom for her character.

          Meanwhile, back to Kristin…..

yep, but at this point I personally find it hard to like Sookie again, it just seems that in the last few episodes the writers kinda made up things to rushed and not only me, also lots of other people really hated the couch scene with Sookie and the two vampires, I think it mada Sookie look even more unlikable; I think its good that she is single for now, but some things she said in this weird couch scene were just meh…I really miss the spirit of the books…

and it seems its not allowed to critisize anything about the show on here, it seems you so desparately want to show that you are neutral…we get it…

Constructive criticism and thoughtful discussion are welcome, as long as it’s on topic. I’m not sure how complaining about Sookie’s characterization is relevant to an interview with Kristin Bauer.

Laura no one said you can’t speak your mind or criticize the show on this site, but I was trying to keep people on topic as was discussed at length here: . Sorry you didn’t get that.

Well centuries old is ancient to me!

Kristin character Pam needs a more well rounded life… in the books, from what I have heard or read. A girlfriend or becoming a maker would be good for Pam…..eric shouldn’t be everything.

I can totally understand how they don’t want to mix the character from the books with the amazing job that she has done bringing Pam to life on True Blood. However, I so wish that they would give Pam/Sookie so much more face time, and lots more chances to let that Pamish humor show through. I mean when you read the books Pam’s little quips are in the top three reasons you look forward to. There is a spot dedicated to it on the CH website. No other character gets such praise. LOL

i think kristen bauer as maleficent was fantastic. she was not as hardcore as pam but there was still that sense of evil that only kristen has mastered that transfered extremely well to the evil that maleficent has. phenominal job with the choice to play that character
