SPOILERS: Casting Call for True Blood Episode 5.03

By  |  36 Comments

Happy New Year! We’re kicking off 2012 with the casting call for True Blood season 5, episode 3, titled “Whatever I Am, You Made Me”.

Looks like we start dealing with the repercussions of Debbie Pelt’s death in this episode as they’re casting her mother, Barbara, and father, Gordon. Both in their 50s, the couple are described as kindly but anxious as they search for their missing daughter. They confront Alcide about her disappearance, and Gordon gets upset with what Alcide has to say about her.

Another member of the Authority makes an appearance in the form of Molly, a cute, bubbly girl in her 20s (or at least she looks that way) who dresses in retro pinup style.  Described as “cute as a button if buttons had fangs,” she outfits two prisoners with complicated deadly devices. Two prisoners? Bill and Eric?

Get ready to meet more residents of Bon Temps! Clothing store owner Tracy is heavily made-up, hair-sprayed and spray-tanned, she owns a small town clothing store and talks trash about Jason to Jessica. Sounds like a woman scorned if you ask me.  Miss Jill Steeler, an ex-teacher, is recently divorced and back in town. She’s described as “she used to be beautiful, now she looks like an attractive, pleasantly plump housewife.” Then there’s Lindsey, a young woman in her 20s who’s fixing a flat tire on a narrow country road when a vampire comes upon her.

We’re flashing back to 1905 again with Dorothy, a young prostitute who has been glamored and is being drained by two vampires when another vampire (newly turned Pam?) saves her.

In a slightly confusing turn, True Blood is casting another (?) Claude. This one is in his early 20s, very attractive (with and without a shirt), omni-sexual, mysterious,  speaks with a British accent, and catches Jessica’s attention and curiosity. This is a recurring role. Is he replacing Neil Hopkins in the role of Claude, Claudine’s brother? Or is this a totally new character?

NOTE: WE CANNOT GET YOU A ROLE ON TRUE BLOOD. If you are interested in auditioning for the show, contact your agent.

Finally, I was waiting for Claude to appear in season 4 a second time. Just glad they aren’t waiting till the end of the season to introduce him!

I don’t remember that “Claude” ever identified himself to Sookie and Earl in the S4 opener where he appeared.

He didn’t but the casting call, and the casting news when the actor was announced, both identified him as Claudine’s brother. Still, since he wasn’t identified as such on the show itself, they could probably wiggle out of it.

i think that’s exactly what they’re going to do, smart move on the writers part not giving us that character’s actual name in season 4.

All he said was that it was his sister who abducted Sookie so we presumed it was Claude. I don’t mind if it is the same character and he looks different as he did not show Sookie his human form. If it is fairy Claude then surely if he gets too close to Jess she will just eat him? Unless they are going to make it so he can mask his fairy-ness somehow.

Expect to see Eric and Bill in matching prison uniforms in this one and me to drink excessive amounts of alcohol before I watch it. And that’s all I’m going to say about that.

OMG, maybe French prison uniforms. Or would that be de trop?

Lmao….. Remind me again. Just how much do you hate Bill & Eric being allies?

I don’t hate I think it’s great! They make the best tag team! Who else agrees?

Yes it’s no secret, unless Eric is using Bill as a foot-rest I won’t be finding it funny, but that is not why I’ll be consuming large amounts of alcohol. I’ve seen who the writer is and the last time she dressed them in matching outfits I wish I had!

Raelle Tucker is one of my favorite writers on the show, along with Alexander Woo. Definitely looking forward to her episodes this season!

I agree, I liked when they were competing against each other for Sookie’s affections, it was way more fun to watch. I hate the new Eric who is subordinate to Bill. The writers wanted the fans to like Bill more so they diminished Eric’s character. I like Bill anyway but season 4 was bad.

OMG Sookieeleana, you can’t see that as opportunity for some GREAT humor? I can! I’m laughing already!

So, armchair casting is in order here, I think. Playing young Claude: Henry Cavill, I hear Jamie Dornan just lost his spot on “Once Upon a Time”, I’m sure there are more out there.

WHAT ABOUT QUINN???? I’m on pins and needles! Do you think they’ll make us WAIT to see who plays this part? I’m dying! PUHLEEEZ H.B.O.!!!!!

      January 5, 2012 at 4:11 pm

They may not use Quinn on the show. Or they may be keeping the casting secret to surprise us.

They’ll never cast Quinn. Cause Alan stated he never liked the Quinn storyline..
      I didn’t ethier..
      I perfect Alcide

No Quinn …….alcide is boring but he might be better….but he doesn’t do much for me!

“Whatever I Am You Made Me” ?!?!?!

Could it be the Eric turns Pam episode *pleasepleasepleasepleaseplease*

Approximately 165 days left to wait!

  6. T

    January 5, 2012 at 4:22 pm

It has to be about Pam and Eric. I hope so. I also hope they’ve made up.

I’m guessing it’s Niall, Sookie’s long lost faery great-grandpa or He would be a rip-off of Roiben’s character from Holly Black’s book that Alan Ball stole or Claude’s human form. Wait a min, where’s Jason? Jessica propose to be w/ Jason?

I wonders how Bill & Eric will gets out of prison. Is Nora strike the deal w/ Chris Meloni’s character to get her big Viking bro?

About the girl w/ a flat tire,I think the vampire who attack her,it’ll turn be Russell. You bet!!!!

I think Eric & Pam are vampire hunter,or Pam becomes avenging angel?

Really can’t wait for season 5…seems to be taking a big departure from the books outside of the Pelts inquiry. This is very exciting! Yet, maybe the ” omnisexual” character could be Dermot, which might explain Jesssica’s curiousity. They did say they were going forward w/ the books & not just sticking to the next one..

Well, the show didn’t identify that Claudine had Claudette or Claude as triplet siblings. Therefore since they never actually used his name on the show they could drop the Claudette character altogether and make Claude be the 3rd triplet? However if he is going to catch the attention of Jessica, I actually rather hope he is not Fae since she will kill him off before he has a chance to do everything Claude should have a chance to do.

Is Tracy possibly a woman who murdered her exhusband???? (Former Beauty Queen who put on some weight in the clink?) Also is her store going to be Tracy’s Toggs? LOL They rather took that one from Tara afterall. And will Sookie be shopping there maybe to go so some authority thing that is going to replace the Summit????

“Then there’s Lindsey, a young woman in her 20s who’s fixing a flat tire on a narrow country road when a vampire comes upon her.”

    Who could that vampire be???

With the introduction of Barbara and Gordon Pelt, does that mean they will also introduce Lily Bard?

  12. Sookieeleana

    January 9, 2012 at 12:03 pm

I’d love to see Lily but I doubt it. And will we get Sandra next?

    • esw45

      January 9, 2012 at 1:09 pm

Yeah, I think Sandra is coming next……and you know Mr. Judgemental Alcide will be very upset at Sookie for not telling him about killing and hiding Debbie’s body and Eric or Bill burying the body…..because he hates vampires…..

In the books, doesn’t Claude have brown skin an brown eyes? The actor they initially hired for the role has blue eyes and doesn’t even have a tan….I think they need to find someone who fits the description from the book

As long the show keep being great. And,keep the sex scene great. Make sure we get to see erica and sooky have sex. Keep up the wonderful job everyone on true blood.

Eloise, I’m a bit disturbed by your comment. Perhaps I have misinterpreted, seeing that English is not your first language, but True Blood is not a show about sex. Alan Ball has repeatedly stated that sex on this show is part of the stroytelling and not for the empty purpose of showing some skin. While there is a lot of sex in the show, it is not a porn show. If all you’re looking for is a show about sex, this is not it.

Also, there is no ‘Erica’ on the show.

Hi Mel, Thanks for responding so quickly! Where exactly should I be sent out to? (Also,Do I have to have an agent?)

        • Mel

          January 11, 2012 at 9:36 pm

We don’t have that information, Gemma. We’re a fansite, not a casting site. If you’re serious about becoming an actor, you’ll want to do some research and acquire an agent who can help you.
