CASTING NEWS: Meet the “Youngest” Vampire on True Blood

Jacob Hopkins is joining True Blood season 5 as a vampire. A very young vampire.

Jacob Hopkins to play youngest vampire on True Blood season 5.According to our source, Hopkins has signed on to play Alexander Drew, the vampire who was turned when he was just 9 years old. The angelic looking Alexander is a member of the Authority who loves smoking and razzing his fellow council members. He first appears in episode 5.02, “Authority Always Wins”.

Fun Fact: Hopkins had a small role in the 2011 film Priest, which co-starred True Blood‘s Stephen Moyer.

    Could this be a variation on the “Alexi” character in the books?

    I see him as either the Alexi character replacement, or as the kid from the trials that would not visit his parents, with some sort of twist to cover the time gap situation. Hmmm, he looks like he could pull off a sweet, innocent, BADDIE. LOL

    I doubt Alexander will be the substitute or variation on Alexei from the book. This kid is a council member who was turned at the age of 9. Alexei was older and very different than this character.
