Didn’t we promise to dedicate ourselves to keeping you busy until the new True Blood season begins in June? How about a True Blood A – Z list! Mel and I needed some diversion and more confusion in our lives, so we enlisted the unfried brains of our lovely staff writers Lisa and Helen, to help us compile this list of fun facts for your reading pleasure.

A – American Vampire League – dedicated to promoting rights for vampires and is the public face for the vampire community.

B – Bill Compton – not the perfect vampire, but still loves Sookie.

C – Crawdad’s Diner is the restaurant Sam took Sookie to for their “date”.

D – Descendants of the Glorious Dead – gathering of Civil War enthusiasts.

E – Eric Northman – hottest vampire in Shreveport.

F – Fangtasia: hottest vampire nightclub in Shreveport, owned by Eric Northman.

G – Glamour – hypnotic trance induced by vampires to get humans to do whatever they command.

H – Hotshot – small community outside of Bon Temps made up entirely of were-panthers.

I – Immortal – vampires are immortal until they meet the true death.

J – Japan was the first country to develop the synthetic drink which allowed vampires to come out of the coffin and live among humans.

K – King Bill, sexiest king in Bon Temps.

L – Lou Pine’s – popular Were bar in Jackson, Mississippi

M – Moon Goddess Emporium: Shreveport occult shop owned by Marnie Stonebrook. Also the site for her coven meetings.

N – Necromancy – to have power over the dead. Vampires don’t take too kindly to necromancy, as Marnie found out!

O – O-Negative is Bill’s Tru Blood of choice.

P – Protesters against vampires started rallying after Russell ripped the heart out of a news anchorman on live television.

Q – Queen Sophie-Anne – queen vampire over Louisiana, deceased (truly).

R – Russell Edgington, King of Mississippi and most powerful vampire in the south – so far.

S – Sookie Stackhouse, the part fae waitress with telepathic abilities who is at the center of the stories in True Blood. She’s also our heroine and she gets all the hot guys.

T – Tru Blood – synthetic blood for vampires to replace human blood; said to be the closest thing to the real thing.

U – Unbuttoned shirts – needs no explanation.

V – V is vampire blood taken by humans to obtain a level of hightened senses; can be addictive.

W – Wherewolves and werepanthers are among the supernaturals we meet in True Blood.

X – Triple-X is the nature of Sookie’s dreams about Eric.

Y – Yellow car – Sookie’s car.

Z – Zydeco is a form of American Folk music popular in Louisiana and frequently used on True Blood.

And there you have it! Our challenge to you? Come up with an alternate ‘Z’. Go on, we double-dog dare you!
