SPOILERS: Casting Call for True Blood Episode 5.07

How’s this for a mid-week pick me up: the casting call for True Blood episode 5.07! The episode is currently not titled but the casting call gives us some clues about what’s happening.

It seems a wedding is in the works, but will it go off as planned? The night before the wedding, we meet  the bride-to-be at a karaoke party where she sings “You Light Up My Life” to her groom, until she’s interrupted. We also meet the mother of the groom who recognizes an uninvited guest. Possibly part of this group is a security guard in charge of protection who announces an unexpected visitor, and later snaps into almost-action, awaiting orders. Er…”almost-action”? I’m not feeling very secure.

We’ll also meet the Reverend Skinner performing a marriage ceremony…on video. So not associated with the wedding mentioned above?

We’re meeting up with that trashy, low-rent anti-vampire group again, the one with Joe Bob from episode 5.06. This time we meet Tyrese, a 20-something beer-drinking, pizza-loving African-American man who may be a recurring character.

Speaking of recurring, get ready to meet Sweetie. She’s a 30ish large woman who’s having a noontime romance with an older married man and will appear in an undetermined number of episodes.

The show is also casting a man or woman in their late 20s to early 30s to play a Black Ops Vampire. This character will be involved in a mission to capture a prisoner. Very mysterious! Who is the vamp working for? Who is the prisoner he or she is tasked with capturing?

What do you make of these new characters?

WOW! I didn’t think they would be covering the Sweetie portion of the book. Maybe this is where we get our taste of the flavor of the book??? Oh, I hope they have her turn Were. I know it didn’t happen for Jason, but doesn’t mean it absolutely can’t, right??? Would love to see a “bitten” Were, and how different it would be from a “Born” Were. Hmmmmm, getting my wishful thinking juices flowing now. I can’t wait to see what they actually do with this episode. Am still hoping for a Charles Twining type character too. Obvoisly he would be going after the object of Bill’s desire, since he was the one who killed Long Shadow in the show, but Eric could still sweep in all heroic and Oh, I would just love to see Bon Temps take out a vamp in the middle of Merlotte’s parking lot, or bar, or whatever. A girl can dream. (Note, like in the book, not Eric by any means. if you have ever read any of my posts, you would know I would never mean Eric or Bill. he he he)

Nope no Sweetie here either, but I wonder who is the unexpected visitor.

Sweeite was a cook at Merlotte’s who goes on a vengeance fueled shooting spree to kill shifters, among others Sam is shot causing Sookie to ask Eric to help with Vamp Bartender for the bar while Sam heals. Enter Charles, Pirate/Bartneder/Vampire.

The 1st wedding mentioned a security guard snapping into “almost action” (were/shifter). Possibly the whole wedding party is were or shifter. How this relates to any of the main characters, (Jason? Terry? Alcide? Sam?)not sure, but it seems we will be getting a broader perspective of their community this season. Then again, I could be way off..

Oh and yes, “Sweetie” was in the books, the role she played was important to weres/shifters. Can’t really say more than that. It will give too much away. Yet on TB her character won’t necessarily follow the same storyline…we’ll have to wait and see.

Great spoilers! thanks a bunch! spoilers really help with the long waiting game we have every year and this year is especially poignant with the looming possibility of the end being near.

Sweetie ‘des Arts was a character in the books who worked at Merlotte’s for a very short time as a fry cook. we know our Laffeyette will NEVER be replaced or killed off so she has to have a different kind of a “title”. it does not mean that her role has to be different tho, so no more spoilers unless somebody gives the go ahead, ha ha…..

she was not a “pivotal character to the story” but was very interesting.

Sweetie is in book 5. Won’t say more as to not spoil it.

    This will be interesting.

I’m afraid that TB is overloading on characters again, they need to pare back since our beloved main characters only get about 7 minutes each episode. “Sweetie” is probably a name borrowed from the books but not the actual character or story.

I hope the wedding that they are talking about is a were wedding and hopfully that means we will get Quinn with his E(E)E company. I would love to see Quinn and who they get to play Quinn.
