The way Sookie cries is really annoying!

    • Liz

      June 12, 2012 at 7:31 pm

But would you expect Sookie to go through all the emotional things she’s gone through without screaming and crying? Would you rather have a wooden Sookie, with no emotions and zero reactions to witnessing her best friend’s death or the horrors of the vampire world? Or maybe it would just have been more believable if she came into her house one night and found Gran, who she loved dearly, lying in a pool of her own blood, and without any emotion at all, began cleaning up the kitchen.

Hahaha! I agree about Sookie’s crying.

Please refrain from insulting the talent on this show. That’s not what we do here. I’ve already had to edit.

I wonder if Walmart is going to campaign against this show for dissing their sweatsuits. LOL!

    • Liz

      June 12, 2012 at 3:09 pm

Ha! Doubtful. If anything, they may get a sudden rush of people looking for that same sweatsuit in their stores. Win-win!

It may increase sales, especially during Halloween for those who want to dress up as Pam. lol

Prediction: Tara will be an angry rogue pshyco with zero impulse control. Her memories will be impaired. An out of control Tara on steroids. I still think it would have been better to have the fairies save her and turn her into an emo Tara. As it is it is just more of Tara turned up a notch. The fairies could have used her as a hook to entice Sookie to the fairy world.. Just musing..

    • Liz

      June 12, 2012 at 3:11 pm

Yes Bern, but there have been a lot of people complaining about “emo Tara” for the last four seasons. I think we’re in for a different Tara, as we talked about in the podcast.

Thanks for the reply Liz, its always fun to play the what if game and hear what other people think.

I loved the scene between Steve Newlin and Jason. Those two! All the cast were great – even Pam in a Walmart outfit and yes it did indeed have flowers AND kittens. Kitsch heaven! About Tara – why didn’t they just give Tara vampire blood to heal her like Bill did Sookie when she was on the brink of dying after she was beaten up in season 1? Also not sure I believe Bill and Eric could leave town knowing Russell was back without protecting Sookie, Jessica and Pam or at least calling to tell them they were in danger. Seems a little unlikely. Still enjoy the show though.

    • Mel

      June 12, 2012 at 4:51 pm

It’s my understanding that Bill & Eric didn’t know about Russell before being spirited away by Nora. That call Eric got while “getting reacquainted” with Nora was from Alcide telling him the news.

Ok lightbulb! What if Sookie could use her faerie microwave fingers to finally get the real Tara back or close. Just like she did with Erik? Or maybe I’m just wishful thinking

    • Liz

      June 12, 2012 at 7:26 pm

I’m wishing right along with you Whitney, but remember Eric was under a spell, Tara is not.

      • Whitney

        June 12, 2012 at 8:57 pm

Ya I realize it’s not a spell but I guess if she can do that maybe she can somehow help Tara. We don’t know a whole lot about what she’s capable of as a faerie .

        • Liz

          June 12, 2012 at 9:18 pm

I like your idea! Maybe when Sookie finds out more about her fairie powers she’ll be able to do that.

I loved that bill went to help, and then ran towards her anyways and went to help her. It shows who really cares 🙂 TEAM BILL!

    • esw45

      June 13, 2012 at 9:53 am

I think Eric still loves sookie and is hurt by her rejection….also I didn’t like his reaction to not helping her ….so I don’t like how they write him at times on TB but hopefully Eric will come around by seasons end and help Sookie against Russell which will happen.

      • Elisha_Q

        June 13, 2012 at 10:17 am

I did not like his reaction too and that makes me think that Sookie and Bill are going to get back together on the show some day. The writers seam to like Bill a lot, plus Eric’s getting together with Nora was pretty drastic and intense, and strange on the N-th degree.

        • esw45

          June 13, 2012 at 10:37 am

Elisha_Q, a lot of Eric lovers thinly the same way that this means Bill will get back with Sookie because Eric doesn’t love her anymore….but I haven’t given up yet….because real Eric hasn’t gotten with Sookie and that’s a waste if that never happens …..Bill and Sookie are boring together and a lot of controversy will if they put her back with Bill without her ever being in a relationship with real Eric …..i hope the writers wake up to this fact

          • Liz

            June 13, 2012 at 11:47 am

If you all have been following the interviews form the cast of the show you’ll know that this season will have Sookie without either of the boys, so all the talk of when and who she will “get back together with” are pointless.

          • Elisha_Q

            June 13, 2012 at 1:53 pm

I said someday, it’s not going to be this season for sure. It’s good that she will stay alone for a while, figure things out and think what is best for her.Which may include none of them both. It looks like we’re going to have some badass Sookie this season – her cofession that she didn’t need to kill Debbie, but she wanted to so she did it, finally made me like her. Now she is a stronger character.

          • esw45

            June 13, 2012 at 6:30 pm

Elisha_Q if sookie actually was going to be all by herself with no man or romantic interest this season would be ok with me….but I don’t belive it…she will get with Alcide and probably have a sexual encounter like Eric did with Nora …..until the truth about Debbie death comes out then where the relationship goes we will see…..I figure it won’t be a good place after this revelation comes….

          • esw45

            June 13, 2012 at 6:43 pm

Liz, your right I don’t think she will get with either one of them, Eric or Bill, the first 11 episodes but the triangle of Eric, sookie and Bill well never end it might a break this season, but it will come back…..I think in the finale this year….its just a feeling i have.

I think that Tara becoming a vampire has great potential. I’m hoping that once(if) she gets over the initial anger over what she’s become, that she will be a force to be reckoned with. That rage on top of what Pam can teach her should make her a pretty ruthless vampire and the victim Tara a thing of the past. I’d actually love to see her become a little more fashionable! I know that becoming a vampire doesn’t change who you are at your core but Pam’s her maker that’s gotta mean something lol. I can’t wait to see what type of dynamic forms between them. I’m definitely hoping that Tara won’t be the “bubba-like” character of the show if there even has to be one.(I could do without a bubba type character in the show even though I loved him in the books). I think that Rutina is such a good actress it would be a waste, I think that she could take Tara to the next level and I’m hoping that’s where they are planning to go with it and not in the bubba direction.

    • Art

      June 15, 2012 at 9:56 pm

I love your post! I’m on team Tara and I think the potential is so great to have Pam as her maker. Pam and Tara are two of my favorite characters. This is a win win for me as a fan. More Pam and More Tara scenes.

I’m so over Eric and Sookie. Eric is too much of a bad boy to be with Sookie. Bill is Sookie’s first love and soulmate IMO. For me, the initial chemistry between Eric and Sookie were about the forbidden and the unknown. Now that they have crossed that line, it fell totally flat. The chemistry died. Bill truly loves Sookie and I believe she truly loves him. I hope towards the end of this season, they will make their way back to the each other. ALcide and Sookie..NO. I see them as brother and sister not lovers. Alcide would be hot with Pam or Tara if you ask me.

      • Alissa

        June 18, 2012 at 8:44 pm

Yes! Pam and Tara together would be funny I think, one because Tara would try to rebel but really she can’t because Pam is her maker. I’m curious to see how much love Pam will be able to muster up for Tara since originally she couldn’t stand her.

I could do without seeing any Sookie/Eric or Sookie/Bill this season. That’s probably not going to be a popular statement but it’s how I feel. I am SO loving the Bill/Eric bromance right now. As for Sookie/Alcide the ONLY reason I care to see them hook up is so I can see a real love scene with Alcide in it lol. Outside of that, to be honest I could care less who she hooks up with this season. I love Sookie don’t get me wrong but she has a good bit of other stuff to focus on with her best friend being a baby vamp, poor lala, and Debbie’s death(also the Pelts). I’m sure they will sneak in a little love for her though lol.

I’m not sure where to post this, but has anyone considered that Christopher Meloni might actually be playing Pontius Pilot in the series? Salome and Pontius both living during the same period in history and considering the fact that they are to be an item on the show……just a thought.

    • Mel

      June 13, 2012 at 8:26 am

That crossed my mind, but I think they’d have said something by now if that were the case. It’s entirely possible that he’s modeled after Pontius Pilot, though.

SPOILER ALERT (maybe): Something I noticed from the S5Ep2 trailer is that it looks like Nora is the witch (looks like a witch performing a ritual at least) in the black dress with the fog swirling around her. I just put that together with another image of Eric in really bad shape (red splotches on his face and a grey sunken pallor) being pulled away by some force in what looks like that same fog. Is he being rescued by her spell craft or is she the one hurting him? And I noticed in S5Ep1 that Nora says, “Lilith willing,” when they’re on the dock about to spend the day in the freight car. Lilith is a Wiccan/Pagan goddess of creation. Thatz why I think Nora may be a witch. I’m interested to find out if she was turned in England in a time period before patriarchal religions dominated polytheistic ones. It would make an interesting back story for Nora and could put some interesting twists & turns into current events. Any thoughts?

    • Elisha_Q

      June 13, 2012 at 10:00 am

What if she is bad like the Lilith from “Supernatural” or she could be Adam’s first wife from the Bible. Lilith being so old, it would be very interesting to see her view of the world today.

LOL! Those two, always begging for screen time! LOL

  16. Bryan

    June 13, 2012 at 4:19 pm

I find it hard to believe that Eric or Bill werent aware of the Authority’s hidden agenda. 1. Eric is a 1,000 years old and a sherrif. 2. Bill is a King. But they act like they are oblivious to all these things going on with vampires… I believe Nora does have the potential to turn on Eric; they’re not actual brother and sister they were just both made by Godric. Nora seems to be strong willed any may have her own agenda to rise to power…I really hope Sookie and Alcide don’t get together this season I really do not like their chemistry. Sookie and Bill are best together because you can feel their connection coming off the screen (I guess this is why they’re together in real life). Eric is best when he does not give a sh*t about anyone and really commands his authority over other vampires. Eric needs to be a King or a leader of the Authority, I believe he is ready for this… On to Jason and Jessica, I really love these two together and really hope Jason doesn’t keep acting like a love sick puppy because Jessica dosen’t like that. She wants the bad boy Jason and if he is to keep her attention he will have to act as if he doesn’t care about her anymore…In closing I think if anyone is to be killed off this season that is a main character it would have to be Eric and I am only saying this because I think Alexander Skarsgard is poised to be a movie star and may be ready to move on from True Blood. The chance of this is about 5% though.

    • esw45

      June 13, 2012 at 6:36 pm

Bryan, I disagree with sookie should be with bill because of the chemistry….I agree I don’t like her with Alcide …he seems like just a friend but Eric the real one has chemistry with sookie to me and he would let her be herself and grow into more fairy than,Bill would who wanted to control her during their relationship….just my biased opinion, Eric did get the true death, myself and a lot of the fans would stop watching true blood…..they are not that stupid ……

      • Bryan

        June 13, 2012 at 8:28 pm

I know the writers and producers arent that stupid. My point was that Eric(who is played by Alexander Skarsgard) is going to be a movie star and “HE” may want off the show so he can have more time to pursue that in the future. Obviously he is a main attraction and they will do everything to keep him, but sometimes it doesn’t always workout.

        • Liz

          June 13, 2012 at 9:02 pm

The norm is a six-year contract, so Skarsgard isn’t going anywhere unless the show itself ends before the contract. Also, he’s having too much fun doing True Blood and it’s really not interfering with any other work he’d like to pursue. He keeps very busy during the hiatus. 😉

      • Neonsky

        June 13, 2012 at 9:48 pm

I disagree with everything u said but I do agree about Jason should act like he doesn’t care and b a badboy again but he is passed that

    • Liz

      June 13, 2012 at 7:50 pm

That’s a great comment post, Bryan. I love that you are looking at the whole episode and not just focusing on who you think Sookie should be in a relationship with. This show is so much more than a love triangle. In fact this entire season will not focus on it at all, for the most part.

Regarding Eric and Bill’s awareness of the Authority: I don’t Eric really concerned himself all that much with them, as long as he could do his thing in his part of the world, I think he was OK with that. Eric is a business man. As long as the Authority didn’t interfere in his business, they were off his grid. Bill on the other hand, knew about the Authority. In fact when Nan recruited him back in the day, she mentions them to him. But I think that he was only allowed certain knowledge – only what they thought was necessary for him to know. If you listened to our interview with Carolyn Henessy, she said that the Authority appointed kings and queens, so if Bill wasn’t aware of their plans, that should be no surprise.

It will be interesting to see what Nora will do. She is still a mystery. Your theory may turn out to be pretty accurate.

      • Bryan

        June 13, 2012 at 8:37 pm

        Liz,
What do you think the blood vile the Authority worships is? I feel it may have some sort of a speacial power or maybe the link to the origins of vampires?

Also what the heck happened to the werepanther storyline? That seemed like a real waste of time last season. I haven’t heard they will be bringing Quinn in but I would like to see a weretiger.

        • Liz

          June 13, 2012 at 8:59 pm

I am very curious about that vial. The first thought that came to my mind was that it was very, very old blood. And yes, possibly linked to the vampire origins. It certainly seems sacred even to Roman.

I was sorry that the werepanther story didn’t pan out. It seems to have been a vehicle for growing Jason up but other than that it seems like a story that didn’t really work so was dropped. However, that being said we could see that storyline again if not this season then next. With this show, things are never over until the series finale or Alan Ball says they are. And Alan has lead us down false paths before so I’m not sure I would trust even him. LOL!

Unless they spring something on us in the season finale, I don’t think we’ll see Quinn. There has been no casting call for anyone that sounds like him.

          • Bryan

            June 14, 2012 at 11:46 am

Do we know how old Roman is? That vial has certainly peaked my interests. I am hoping that Roman is older than Russell because it’s almost unfair how powerful Russell is.

I agree I still think at some point Jason will turn into a werepanther and rip Zander to shreds! Lol just kidding about the Zander thing but I do think Jason will turn. I so badly want Jessica and Jason to be together so I hope that works out.

Also I just want to say the reason why I like Bill so much is because I love how close he sticks to the time period of which he grew up in. Being kind, and chivalrous.

          • Mel

            June 14, 2012 at 11:59 am

            Who’s Zander?

      • esw45

        June 13, 2012 at 11:45 pm

I don’t trust Nora, I think she let Russell out ……why and how I am not quite sure other than a were helped her get the chains off him…..but maybe she hates how Roman is running the authority? We will find out ….on the other mote the terry bellfluers and other characters other than Laffeyette doesn’t interest me so I don’t care or talk about them….the main characters of sookie, Eric and bill keeps my interests ….the rest could take or leave mostly leave.

    Hello,
I’m desperately looking for the song when sookie screams “tara, wake up” at the end and when she takes a shower thinking about her.

    PLEASE HELP ME ^^

You’re talking about the original score, composed by Nathan Barr. It’s not available to download, but we do have a list of the songs that were used (not the score) with download links in our season 5 Music guide.

I don’t why so much people consider Sookie and Eric to be THE thing of the show, while it NEVER was. The show didn’t wait for that to be a success…

It’s an ensemble cast, many great haracters on here, and while it was sometimes killIing the pace, I’m glad to see, unlike what I had read in previews, that they actually limited the story lines, it’s easy to keep track and didn’t feel overdone like it used to.

Or maybe was it just better, I had to skip some Jason and Tara scenes last season since it really ruined the episodes for me.

I like Bill and Eric’s relationship, even if it seems a little too friendly. As for Eric, his pride has been shattered, I think he tries to convince himself Sookie was “nothing” ( we know better ).

Bill has always secret agendas, but his love for Sookie is not to be doubted. He would give his life for her, nobody’s perfect. People often hurt each other. But I think the paradox of this character is that he looks so human, but is in fact struggling with his inner darkness every second. He showed a lot of it last season. I guess power reveal people, first as an immortal vampire then as the King. He wants to be good but I think he is “too smart”. He thinks too much, he doesn’t want anything to slip under his control, that’s why he sometimes makes some terrible decisions even though he had good intentions.

Eric is less subtle on the show, but it fits his “Viking” character, he can be manipulative but most of the time he’s straight forward. I hated the whole 4 years old Eric arc though, I’m glad the cool Eric is back ! Even though I found it a little ” fast ” , I was surprised in a good way to see he at least tried to look over Sookie. ( his comments to Bill further proves his need to protect himself, his pride )

I wonder Sam’s story will bring him !

And the new cast looks absolutely amazing, I had read no spoiler, when I saw the preview I almost fell off my chair !

That episode was horrible, the flash back with Tara and Sookie was so corny.. I’d give it a 4/10

    • Liz

      June 15, 2012 at 10:04 am

And that’s it? That’s the only thing that bothered you and it ruined the entire episode for you? Maybe if you could give us a bit more detail about why you didn’t like this episode I wouldn’t think of you as a troll.
