Hip Hop Wired has just reported that True Blood’s Nelsan Ellis will portray Martin Luther King, Jr. in a film titled The Butler. The movie is about the experiences of one butler who lived in the White House for 30 years, serving eight presidents. “Considering Martin Luther King has been to the White House on more than one occasion, it has yet to be revealed what time in history will be apart of the Butler.”

The Butler is directed by Lee Daniels (Monster’s Ball), which can only be great for Nelsan, given Daniels’ track record with the Oscars.

The movie will be filmed in New Orleans and should premiere some time next year. We’ll keep you posted!
