A very familiar face joined the cast in season 5, and fans of sci-fi/fantasy television and film were very excited about. Christopher Heyerdahl filled the role of Authority member, Dieter Braun. Dieter was the interrogation specialist and her loved experimenting with various torture devices. A particular favorite was silver injections for vampires. Nasty business.

I recognized Heyerdahl immediately from Syfy’s series, Sanctuary. Fans of the popular AMC series, Hell On Wheels recognize him as The Swede, and The Twilight Saga: New Moon fans know him as one of the Volturi, Marcus. Others may know Heyerdahl as Kevin Reikle from Caprica, Todd the Wraith from Stargate: Atlantis, Zor-El from the Smallville series, and my personal favorite, Alistair from Supernatural. Next to Alistair, Dieter was a kitty-cat.

Genre experts would have my head if I didn’t also mention Christopher’s role in The Chronicles of Riddick, Andromeda and Blade: Trinity, but back in the day Christopher landed a guest spot in one episode of 21 Jump Street. How many of you knew that?
