Take a Peek at the UNOFFICIAL Synopsis for the Final Sookie Novel

Our friends over at Sookieverse stumbled across an unofficial synopsis for the final Sookie novel, Dead Ever After, which they feel comes from a reliable source. If they feel confident in posting it, that’s good enough for us!

Sookie finds it easy to turn down the request of former barmaid Arlene when she wants her job back at Merlotte’s. After all, Arlene tried to have Sookie killed. But her relationship with Eric Northman is not so clearcut. He and his vampires are keeping their distance…and a cold silence. And when Sookie learns the reason why, she is devastated.

Then a shocking murder rocks Bon Temps, and Sookie is arrested for the crime.

But the evidence against Sookie is weak, and she makes bail. Investigating the killing, she’ll learn that what passes for truth in Bon Temps is only a convenient lie. What passes for justice is more spilled blood. And what passes for love is never enough…

So Arlene is back. Charlaine has said as much in interviews teasing the book, and it sounds like Arlene’s role is probably minor but an easy plot point to talk about without giving too much away. Clearly Sookie is still trying to figure out the future of her relationship with Eric, and Freya’s demands aren’t helping. But what about this murder? Who dies? Why would Sookie be suspected? And why does it feel like some major reveals about Sookie’s beloved Bon Temps are on the horizon?

Dead Ever After hits bookshelves May 7, 2013.
