VIDEO: Another Preview for True Blood 6.09

By  |  63 Comments

HBO just released a second preview for next week’s episode of True Blood, titled “Life Matters”, which gives us even more sneak peeks into what’s coming.

What did you think of Sarah Newlin’s Psalm 23 voiceover? She sounds desperate/deranged – I have a feeling this is when Jason has his hands on her throat.

Fan of the Southern Vampire Mysteries since 2001, and co-admin of since 2008. Team Sookie!

At last I’ve been wanting to see the real Warlow and here he is with Sookie hanging there unconscious? Is this the wedding and turning? He doesn’t look happy lol

Can’t wait to see Eric kick ass and fly! But who is he flying off to from vamp camp?

Lol at Billith, Eric seems to be beating him to everything

Looks like Eric MAY be the New Lillith or another Lillith. That would be sweet. I hope its that and hes just not soaked in blood or a hallucination.

      August 5, 2013 at 4:55 pm

I think the bloody thing is Bill, maybe he is finally going to get Lilith out him or something, I hope so. Bill has always been a good guy, I hope he gets back to her old self once the Lilith story is dead.

        August 5, 2013 at 5:31 pm

Paused at 26 seconds its definitely Eric’s eyes not Bills.

        • Anja R

          August 5, 2013 at 6:45 pm

Definitely looks like Eric’s eyes on Bills face and body. What could that mean??

          • Roman

            August 6, 2013 at 4:40 pm

What are you talking about? That looks like one of Lilith’s three sirens. That looks nothing like Bill or Eric.

          • Anja R

            August 6, 2013 at 8:28 pm

The angle of the camera makes Bill’s eyes resemble Eric’s. I wonder if he is in a coma and seeing one of Lillith’s sirens (that’s the screen shot that you’re referring to, Roman).

          • Misty

            August 6, 2013 at 11:16 pm

It’s not Bill and it’s not Lillith. I think it’s either Eric or MAYBE someone else. It’s someone blond at least because you can see strands of hair. The eye shape and what I can see as far as the face shape look like Eric to me but with all the blood and possible burn marks it is hard to tell. Plus, the quirky “Shh..’ comes across as something Eric would do. Maybe it’s the new “threat” even. Until Sunday we won’t know for sure.

          • Roman

            August 7, 2013 at 2:47 am

I still think it’s one of Lilith’s girls that we always see. They always do that “shh…” thing. I recall in the synopsis it says Bill feels the wrath of Lilith’s sirens. I don’t see the Eric resemblance at all.

It looks like Bill feeds off Warlow for a little bit then Sookie uses her light to blast him out of the fairy dimension.

What’s the clip of Warlow baring his bloody fangs with him holding Sookie? Looks like her hair is down and her eyes are closed. Different than her black cementery dress.

I REALLY hope Warlow fights back since Eric and Bill basically made him their blood bag. Isn’t he like 6,000 years old? He could totally do some damage once he’s untied from that tree.

      August 5, 2013 at 7:03 pm

Looks like Warlow is forcing her to be his vampire fairy bride and is interrupted by someone ….probably Eric or Bill or maybe both….

  4. Angi

    August 5, 2013 at 4:16 pm

It’s interesting to note that Pam’s fangs are blood covered as she looks up at the sky. It looks like the Viking just might make it in time. Love the Scripture voice over. Sarah has been a naughty girl.

Yes, it is. I think all of our faves will have fed on fae blood and will dance in the light of the sun! Go, Eric, go! I think it’ll be Sookie ending up saving Bill or her getting Warlow to. Can’t wait to see Sarah lose most of her head thanks to Jason, hopefully!

This all seems so weird, since Billith has the ability to control minds, he had the govenors guards shot themselves . It looks like he could control the person or persons who are opening the top roof of the white room.

    • Vampiremaniac

      August 5, 2013 at 5:11 pm

Billith doesn’t have the ability to control minds. What Billith did to that guards at Governor’s mansion was controlling their bodies with telekinesis. The talk “Shoot, etc” was part of his cocky entrance.

Can they please take Warlow out of that fairy plane and give him something more interesting to do, what a waste.

    • Mel

Every time someone refers to it as the “fairy plane”, I imagine an airplane with fairy wings. 😀

Mel, I’m lmao on that one. (my hubby is a airline pilot, which makes it even more funny). “Welcome to Fae Airlines…” fasten your seatbelt as you watch the brief safety demonstration of our on board flight attendants – M. Warlow and S. Stackhouse demonstrating light orgasms, blood feeding frenzy and how to properly tie a knot to secure a vampire. thank you for your business and we hope you have a pleasant flight. (and yes, I am a total geek!!!!) 🙂

Since season 3, the semi-finale episode bears the most action with the finale episode ending with some major cliffhanger as always. Seems episode 9 will obliterate us with too much action and horror and they are giving us two tease videos. I hope somehow Sarah and the shrink find a way to survive. Sarah is too crazy to die, I want more of her and the shrink is too funny. Dr.Overlark is a nice character protrayed by a superb actor but he has to die. I can’t even try to think what Eric will do to him, since it is him who infected Nora. I hope he bites him everywhere, then rape him then rip his limbs one by one and then rip his heart to have a feast just like season 4. And 100% sure that Steve dies as well, Eric is keeping him under the sun (too bad, he is so funny should have been Violet!). I don’t think that Jason will kill Sarah, although she tried to kill him. I think she will either escape or Eric/Bill will kill her. And if all these happens at episode 9, I wonder what episode 10 will include. Just Sookie’s transformation? Of course, we heard that a new threat will appear (at the last 10 seconds of the finale episode I bet!) but will we see everyone trying to take their lives back? I don’t see this happening. Sookie actually has no one and she is surrendering to her fate, many human casualties, Pentagon was thinking about eradicating their species back at season 5. I see a war between the species as a new threat. Bill, Jesicca Eric and his “family” should leave the state, not just the town. Hopefully, Warlow and Sookie can hide at that alternative dimension 4ever, having sex and feeding on each other as hybrids. Eternal and eternally happy life, Sook! Ewww!
PS. I REALLY don’t like Andy with his shotgun. I hope we won’t be having some freaking ironic death (Jesicca or even Eric) by the hands of the sheriff…

  8. debi

    August 5, 2013 at 7:06 pm

Uh OH…Papa Andy is loading a sniper rifle…vampire hunting? A big tall blonde will stand out.

I gotta say Bill makes an impressive entrance in the fairy PLANE…

I am thinking Sarah may become my favorite baddie…Russell was so yummy, but a Southern girl gone so wrong…I am starting to hope they don’t kill her.

    • Mel

      August 5, 2013 at 10:15 pm

      “…in the fairy PLANE…”

I see what you did there. 😛

I agree – loved that little snippet of Bill exiting (I think) the Cemefaery.

Ahahaha, Robyn! That’s funny, and I hope so too although having Steve do it would be a very nice and satisfying twist.

my theory is Sookie will turn into vampire and absorb lillith’s powers.

    • Anja R

      August 5, 2013 at 11:25 pm

Whoaa…mind trip!! I want her to be with Warlow and be a hybrid vampire, but this sounds so out-there unexpected, it’s awesome! I feel like there is enough focus on the subplots that Sookie is hardly featured as much as you’d expect for a main character. With her transforming from a relatively more vulnerable person on the show to one of the most powerful….I think that would make for an extra good season But….I still want her to be with Warlow. Talk about power couple!

      • Toni

        August 11, 2013 at 11:47 am

Sookie will be turned but I think Warlow fulfills his prophecy by allowing the vampires to day walk lord knows he wasn’t good for anything else this season. DID I MENTION HE WAS WORTHLESS THIS SEASON AND COLLECTED A PAY CHECK SITTING IN CEMEFAIRY TIED TO A HEADSTONE WHINING oh I think I have quite a bit. Eric did his thing this season and knew nothing nor cared to know who The man that collected a paycheck for free (Warlow) was

        • Mel

          August 11, 2013 at 12:07 pm

Um, Warlow was the catalyst for Sookie’s entire storyline, Niall’s storyline, a significant part of Jason’s storyline, and now is tied into the vampire/human war storyline. I seem to recall him up, walking around, making us question his motives for his first five episodes. Maybe you need to rewatch the season?

        • Liz

          August 11, 2013 at 2:59 pm

I think you’re getting True Blood mixed up with “The Vampire Diaries”. I don’t think Sookie will be turned vampire at all. As for the rest of your comment, maybe there were quite a few episodes that you missed.

Looks like from this preview, Eric makes it to the ‘white room’ in time to save his vamp ‘family’. (Notice Pam has blood all over her face/fangs). If you notice Jessica is in the background while someone is burning. I’m assuming it is Steve Newlin.

  12. Michele

    August 5, 2013 at 10:14 pm

Looks like the Vamp Camp story is coming to it’s end and maybe we will see a glimpse of what’s to come for Season 7. I still think they have a lot of potential with Warlow’s character for next season, wonder where the writers will take us, there are just too many questions unanswered with him. Also that person who is all bloody is not Eric it is definitely a woman, but don’t know who. I also have no idea who Sookie is zapping out of the Fairy realm, is it Bill?, Warlow? or Eric?. I also hope we see Niall again before the last episode.

    • Anja R

      August 5, 2013 at 11:18 pm

My bets (with myself lol) are on Bill being the person that Sookie zapped out of the Fairy realm – you see the clothes that she had on when she first took Bill there, as well as a clip of bill being thrown out of the realm, plus then running up the road.

And as for the bloody woman, I think it fits with the synopsis about Bill feeling ” the pull of Lillith’s sirens.” I wonder if that ties in with the scene of him appearing to have been drained, lying on the floor of the circular white room. Since he is able to see Lillith/ her accomplices while he is in a comatose state.

    • Toni

      August 11, 2013 at 11:55 am

He was tied to a headstone in cemefairy all season long I’m like Eric I don’t care what his purpose is or how it effects True Blood. I know the Viking is the real deal and that is all I need to know.

      • Mel

        August 11, 2013 at 12:04 pm

He was tied to a headstone for part of 3 episodes, not “all season long”.

  13. Anja R

    August 5, 2013 at 11:38 pm

Crazy thought (for both Eric and Warlow lovers): Based on the scene of Warlow and Sookie (when it looks like her hair is down and eyes closed):

What if at that moment, when Warlow is in the process of draining her to turn her, another vampire (who’d had enough fae blood to break the realm) appeared? It looks like Bill has already left the scene (having been blasted out by Sookie while she still had her hair in a bun), and yet the Fairy/ Faerie plain has the dark look of there being a vampire present.

Could it be that either Eric sensed Sookie being drained to death, or that another vampire appeared? And, if it’s not Eric, do you think the writers have decided to actually create a separate creepy vampire faerie hybrid to play the role of the supposed Warlow who was dressed up in the long hair, heard, trench coat and hat? Then they could also explain why that weird & scary apparition popped up in Sookie’s bathroom in season 5 (it seemed nothing like the “Warlow” that we know now).

    • esw45

      August 6, 2013 at 6:31 am

Anja R, I believe it’s Eric that comes there to the fairy realm because Sookie changes her mind about being turned and Warlow kidnaps her anyway because if you look at the scene in slow motion or as a screencap you will see Sookie’s arms are above her head so Warlow has her tied up! So I think Eric cmes there to save her from Warlow because his dark side has fully taken over…..

      • Anja R

        August 6, 2013 at 11:01 am

Interesting point esw45….You’re probably right. In that case, it looks like Sookie will be alone at the end of the series. Or maybe Nicole will be killed off eventually after having Sam’s baby, and Sookie and Sam will end up together. She can kill Warlow to get rid of her light and live as a normal everyday human with Sam. Sookie doesn’t want to be with Eric for whatever reason (and if she were with him, she’d still only have a sliver of his lifetime with him considering she wants to stay human), Bill doesn’t really care about her anymore, there will be no Warlow, and Sookie has already confessed to Sam that she thought they’d end up together. That sounds plausible.

Side note: I think that all sounds like crap, boring as heck, and defeats the purpose of having a fantastical series…but it could happen. I also think it doesn’t make any sense for Warlow to switch from (“tie me up, I’m a starving ancient vampire attracted to faerie blood, but I’ll sacrifice this pain to not hurt you” to “F it, I’m going to kill you”). But…we’ll seeeeeee

        • Lori

          August 6, 2013 at 12:37 pm

Yeah but in his eyes it’s not death it’s eternity, he wants a vampire bride forever

          • Anja R

            August 6, 2013 at 3:29 pm

Personally, that sounds ridiculously awesome: forever young, healthy, powerful, and with a devoted, handsome, extremely powerful man – oldest faerie AND vampire (besides Billith, for now)? ? Um yes please!!

But, Sookie has her own priorities and values. If she refuses to be with Eric, Bill is no longer an option, and Warlow is actually a bad guy (they’ve pretty much all been bad guys at some points in the show)…What is she going to be up to the rest of the series? Just hanging out, like a supporting character? That’s…

    • Michele

      August 6, 2013 at 1:31 pm

I was thinking the same exact thing, that could just be Bill she is zapping out of there, cause the outfit of the man standing there next to her is what Warlow has on and i cannot see the outfit of the person being zapped, and since she has that bond with Eric he could feel that she’s in trouble and he could be the one to save her (hopeful on that scenario), since she went to Bill and Sam for a reason to stay human, and neither was there for her, could Eric be the one to give her the reason to remain human??? We shall see, this is going to be a loooong week 🙂

This is the only time of the year that I actually look FORWARD to Sunday nights.

    • Sheryl

      August 6, 2013 at 5:38 pm

I like your theory Anja R, but what if it’s not Eric that comes at the moment when Warlow is draining Sookie – it could be Niall coming back from whatever place he was sent to. That would be a great time for grandpa Niall to show up when he is needed most! Plus it would put him back in the show which would be great – I really liked his character.

      • Liz

        August 6, 2013 at 6:20 pm

Who says Warlow is going to drain Sookie? He’s not going to wait for her for 6000 years and then drain her till she’s dead, or did you mean something else?

        • Anja R

          August 6, 2013 at 6:34 pm

Oh – by “drain,” I meant he would be completing the 1st part of the vampire-creation proccess; he would have to drain her of her blood almost to death, then give her his blood before they spend the night next to each other underground.

Actually, that poses another question: would he be able to make her a vampire while in the faerie realm?

          • Liz

            August 6, 2013 at 6:52 pm

Gotcha. Then I misunderstood. I’m better now!

        • esw45

          August 6, 2013 at 7:05 pm

My theory after seeing the promo was that she agreed to be his vampire bride but changed her mind for various reasons and Warlow basically goes off after that and forces her to be turned or is trying to turn her when Eric shows up ….what happens after that should be great! I don’t think its Bill that shows up because he is dealing with lillith issues

      • Anja R

        August 6, 2013 at 6:43 pm

Ohhh Sheryl – Interesting about Niall!! I had that thought too…Although I wasn’t sure whether the fact that the faerie dimension looks dark at that moment meant that a vampire (besides Warlow was present).

That would be a really cool moment if Niall came back. Then Warlow could explain himself, and Sookie could decide whether she wants to be with him. Sadly I think it’s Eric – sweet of him, but I don’t want an Eric vs. Warlow showdown – Warlow is stronger, and I REALLY like his character…then again I also don’t want Eric to die.

    • ChristieAtlanta

      August 7, 2013 at 7:54 pm

I agree…it is one of Lilith’s sirens. The episode synopsis says “Bill feels the pull of Lilith’s (Jessica Clark) sirens.”

  15. Anja R

    August 6, 2013 at 8:32 pm

Ok, I’m obssessing – I’m obsessed!! – but do you think it’s possible that Eric will have only THOUGHT that Sookie was being killed (final death, not vampire-creation style “death), and when she shows up to save her, he doesn’t disagree with Warlow turning her? It would be to Eric’s benefit as well if she were a vampire hybrid…If they are together at some point, she would live forever

    • Toni

      August 11, 2013 at 12:04 pm

No I wish but Eric was inclined to ensure Sookie’s wishes was met. He knew she didn’t want to be turned he would never allow it if he can help it.

  16. Cathy

    August 7, 2013 at 10:17 am

I haven’t been keeping up with these comments very much this season, is anyone else a little annoyed that a “season” they make us wait a whole year for is only 10 episodes long? Honestly that is a bigger affront to my fandom than any plot development. I don’t know if you all remember the days when the season of any show contained a good 25 episodes or it was construed a “mini series”. I feel rather used that after all the push and promo and merchandise they want us to purchase for only 10 episodes!

    • Liz

      August 7, 2013 at 1:36 pm

I do remember those days of 25 eps per season, Cathy. I also remember when HBO was strictly a movie channel. When they started to expand their programming with original series’ there were at the most, 18 episodes per season. As they expanded even further due to the success of the series they aired, each show was cut down more and more. Mel addresses this very thing and answers your questions in this weeks podcast, so be looking for that. She really explains things in detail.

For this season of True Blood, there was the matter of Anna Paquin recovering from giving birth to twins which interfered with their regular schedule.

    • Roman

      August 7, 2013 at 10:37 pm

That’s network television that contains over 20 episodes in a season, not cable television. Most cable television contains 10 – 13 episodes in a season. Some are even less than that.

    • Toni

      August 11, 2013 at 12:14 pm

Cathy, I agree with you. I wish it was longer. I think they waited til last minute to address the Warlow fiasco to have something to talk about next season. I wanted his drama to be over with so we can move on he arrived in season 5 and it appears like he is going to linger until season 7. I would have liked for some action to happen like the fairy/vampire war next season or Sookie and Eric being the spokesperson for vampire and human relations and they fighting for vampire rights but it appears we will have to deal with Warlow another season. I am so upset this season has the possibilities to open new doors for True Blood and we will probably be stuck dealing with Warlow from season 5 still trying to talk Sookie into being his fairy/vampire bride.

      • Liz

        August 11, 2013 at 2:55 pm

” I am so upset this season has the possibilities to open new doors for True Blood and we will probably be stuck dealing with Warlow from season 5 still trying to talk Sookie into being his fairy/vampire bride.”

That has never been the pattern these writers have followed. In all five previous seasons of True Blood they’ve always wrapped up the story arcs and launched the storyline for the next season in the finale. So you won’t have to be so upset, Toni.

I hope Sookie doesn’t proposition Alcide that would be wrong for the writers and producers to allow that to happen.
