Disconnect, the indie thriller co-starring True Blood‘s Alexander Skarsgard, is now available on DVD, Blu-ray, and Video On Demand. The movie interweaves three storylines dealing with technology and communication, to show how meaningful personal interaction is still such a needed part of our lives. Here’s the official synopsis:

A hard-working lawyer, attached to his cell phone, can’t find the time to communicate with his family. A couple is drawn into a dangerous situation when their secrets are exposed online. A widowed ex-cop struggles to raise a mischievous son who cyber-bullies a classmate. An ambitious journalist sees a career-making story in a teen that performs on an adult-only site. They are strangers, neighbors and colleagues and their stories collide in this riveting dramatic thriller about ordinary people struggling to connect in today’s wired world.

Face to face is my favorite way to connect, however I have friends in different states and one good friend in another country so Facebook and Twitter are great for me to keep in constant contact.

I love Twitter, it’s the best of both [texting and Facebook] worlds. You can communicate quickly and post pictures way faster than Facebook or texting.
But as far as I’m aware, nothing beats face to face.

Face to face is, of course, the best way for effective communication and it is absolutely my preference. As for the other means of communication mentioned above, I use them all on a daily basis as well.

I think it depends on what your communicating. Here are some examples:
A quick reminder to my hubby = text
A happy birthday = Facebook + In person
A specific message for a group of people = e-mail
An I love you = text, Facebook or in person
A drunken message = best if you hide your phone! Lol but it’s usually a text that happens so fast you forget it happend
    You get the picture ๐Ÿ™‚

I don’t really have a preference as to how you communicate, as long as you are communicating! ๐Ÿ™‚ Though I will say I hate talking on the phone. Texts are the quickest way to get a message across of course.

Thanks for having this contest and spreading the love of Mr. Skarsgard! ๐Ÿ˜‰

Personally, depends on who im talking and to what about. Details-text, its quick and easy and doesnt derail my current goings on. Anything personal like happy birthday, a friend feeling down, condolences, catching up- always face to face or a phone call. Its important to maintain relationships and doing it impersonally does not do that.
