Hey! Nelsan Ellis Lands Major Role in James Brown Film

Nelsan Ellis is nailing the big films and this latest is going to be huge. The James Brown biopic, Get On Up, signed Ellis to play Brown’s close friend and music collaborator, Bobby Byrd. Get On Up is produced by Brian Grazer and Mick Jagger (!), and stars Viola Davis and Oscar winner Octavia Spencer. Directing is Tate Taylor. Production begins soon in Mississippi.
