We’ve been bringing you goodies every Friday for weeks, nay, months, but I think this might take the award for most amusing and original item. Book By You is a company that produces romance novels in various genres plus teen novels that can be personalized by the reader! You choose the names, physical characteristics, even pets for the central characters and the book is printed as requested. This week we’re featuring their teen novel, First Bite, a vampire novel for teens that can be personalized by you. Here’s a synopsis:

This timeless teen romance begins with a chance encounter in a darkened library, when a bright, book-loving high school student has her life saved by a captivating stranger with haunting eyes and a terrible secret: he’s doomed to a bloodthirsty immortality as a vampire.

Instantly drawn to the magnetic but elusive hero, our determined heroine (helped by her best friend) tracks him down despite his efforts to protect her from the truth.  As much as the creature of the night wants to hide, he too can’t stay away from the sensitive, intelligent young woman who mesmerizes him.

Finally the two are brought together by another life-threatening incident, and they can no longer deny their feelings for one another. But slowly our heroine realizes there’s more to this elegant young man with the old-fashioned speech and knightly demeanor.

She digs at the truth until she learns his tragic past and dangerous nature. Her loyalty is tested: can they really have a future together? She is determined to remain steadfast and believes love will overcome their problems. Our hero has doubts and doesn’t know if the future holds hope … or heartbreak. He’s all-too-aware of the danger that surrounds him and is fiercely protective of our heroine (though she’s strong enough to take care of herself). While he’s able to curb his desire to make the heroine one of his own kind, how long can his strength last in the face of such temptation?

Wouldn’t that be a cool gift for a teen you know? Or maybe you want it for yourself? You’re in luck because we’re giving away one personalized copy of First Bite to a lucky True-Blood.net winner!

True-Blood.net: How are you feeling tonight? Are you excited to be nominated?
Nathan Barr:
I’m good. I am, really excited. This is the first award since I started True Blood that I’ve been nominated for, so that’s really cool.

TBN: Congratulations! Have you started anything for season 3 yet?
NB:
I just started today, actually. In one of the episodes there’s some on-camera musicians playing, so I just started writing stuff for them. And I just read the first two episodes, which are amazing.

TBN: Cool! I heard a rumor that you recorded something with the guitarist from ZZ Top. Are we going to hear that?
NB: Yes, we did. Billy Gibbons and I have been friends ever since Dukes of Hazzard when we did the score together. We  wrote a song as a potential for the True Blood main title. Jace’s song had already been picked, but I knew I wouldn’t be able to sleep at night if I didn’t try something. So I’m hoping that will get a place in season 3.

TBN: Well on behalf of all your fans at True-Blood.net, we’re really excited for you and good luck tonight.
NB: Thank you and thanks for all of your support, it means a lot!

Nate won the award for Best Score (True Blood). Congratulations, Nate! See more photos from the red carpet in the Gallery.

Nelsan Ellis Thinks Lafayette/Eric Would Be Hot, Not Keen On Sex Scenes

The UK’s DigitalSpy caught up with Nelsan Ellis at the recent MCM Expo and asked him some questions about True Blood season 2 and season 3, with some interesting results:

Is there any chance of a love interest for Lafayette?
“Yes, there’s talk. I don’t want a love interest though, because I think Lafayette doesn’t have time! He has his businesses to deal with. Plus, it would take a special creature to pin him down.”

What about Eric? He’s been having sexual dreams about him and that would be a hot story!
“Hahahah! I would love for Eric and Lafayette to get their thing on!”

How do you feel about filming sex scenes?
“I haven’t had to film a sex scene yet. It would make me terribly uncomfortable. I’d have to do it, though, because I’m bound by contract.”
