I know what you mean! I couldn't believe it either.. I had a feeling though, that there was more to Uncle Gilbert. I didn't really think he would (stay dead) especially since he was just introduced. He seems to know a lot about Mystic Falls  ???

Hmm QUESTION; When a vampire drinks from a human, does it make them bloodthirsty or something? Elena's boyfriend looked a bit psycho at the end there >.>. Yay, only two more nights until the next episode :)

Stefan's reaction to Alena's blood was because he had been so long without human blood. It was like and alcoholic who takes a drink after being 'dry'.

It's exactly like Liz says. Look at Vicky, as a newborn vamp she was having trouble controlling her thirst for blood. All vampires need to acquire that resistance. Stefan on the other hand immediately refused human blood when he was changed so he was never able to learn that control.

Wow, so he hasn't like, EVER drank blood before then?
I thought that maybe it was a case of he was only on donor blood, and having it fresh made him go, well, out of control. Maybe not then. Wow, I REALLY need to go back and watch earlier episodes... :/
I see what you guys mean about the psycho Uncle though. He could be potentially problematic. >.>

I think Stefan did at one time drink human blood, but something made him stop and we don't know what. Maybe that is a revelation yet to come?

I'm a lover of the Vampire Diaries too. It started off kind 90210-ish but it seems to be going in a more interesting direction. The relationships are the glue of the show but the different story lines really propel the show. My husband now watches the show (especially after being dragged to Paley).

I'm very interested in the uncle. He's a total jerk but seems to know all the back story and what's really going on. Hmmmm....

Stefan going bad...it's totally Angel in Season 2 of Buffy...

And when is Bonnie coming back? I really liked her Grandma standing up to Damon.

I went to the Paley Fest for this show this year. Kevin Williams is totally obsessed with the town story which I think is more interesting than just concentrating on the Elena/Stefan relationship. KW also says there will be multiple cliff hangers in the season finale (which isn't a spoiler...I think).

I've been thinking about Alaric and Damon, and about their little chat after killing the vamp. They really do have alot in common, and I don't just mean Isobel. They are both longing to find their ex's and wondering if they would be better off not finding them. Wondering why they didn't seem to be enough for them. It was nice to see Damon have someone to talk to that was his equal in a way. No brother issues to worry about. Although saying that, they have the Isobel issue between them. Which taints the uneasy friendship. Lol and of course Damon tried to kill him, but hey I figure they're even about now. But, they could become good friends.
So was everyone else expecting Stefan to be the defining moment in turning Damon?
ha, I know, I think way too much  ::)

I am loving that show! Nina Dobrev is a great actress! She is so young and already proved and successful. I am waiting with impatience the new season.

I scolled all the way to the bottom, so not to spoil the show for me. I watch it with my daughter who is 14. I have seen the first episode. I am in no wya as hooked as I am with TB, But, it is not a bad show so far. The real positive is that it is mother and  daughter time which we never get enough. We sit and discuss the show and it really is interesting to see the insight my daughter has.

I love Vampire Diaries, was hooked from the first episode.  I'd say it's somewhere between Twilight & True Blood.

Definately looking forward to the 2nd season :)

I have recently read the 1st 3 books, very very different to the show.  Think the show's an improvement.  Had heard a lot of hype about how brilliant the books.   Whilst I wouldnt say awful, I do think a little over-rated.

I found the first few books okay but the last two have been horrible!  Way over the top with all the supernatural stuff that is not vampire related.  Way too hard to follow also!  I hope the show doesn't go that route as well!

I am publically retracting this statement. I am also addicted to this show. I have become such a big Damon fan. He has a sense of humour, a wicked side, and I knew all along he was really a good guy under the tough exterior. I also love his facial expressions. ;)

I'm allso hooked on the show, and I like the storyline better in the shows than in the books. I don't say that books are so bad, but they are very different from the show many ways and they are made a little younger people than me but I still liked the books, and I specially liked the last book best. I didn't think it was hard to follow and the dark dimension was the most interesting part.

I am in Damon's side too, he's shown his sensitive side and he doesn't pretend to be better than he is, and he is a vampire, so he drinks human blood, but in later in show's doesn't kill his victims. I don't like that Stefan tries to be "a better vampire" by drinking animal blood, copying Edward. In the books he drinks human blood and in show I would liked if he did so. So little twilight effect there.
And I was shocked when I realize that Damon didn't kiss Elena in the last episode, I really thought that she was Elena, not Kathrine. And I hoped she was Elena (except the knife part), cause I would love to see Elena with Damon. But there is not long wait anymore, two weeks and then it continues.
