Anyone else think that Talbot is going to be  a wee bit upset when he finds out that Russell asked Sophie Ann to marry him? See who hits the ceiling then... This will be the final wedge that Eric needs to get his revenge.

Good point. I hadn't even thought of poor Talbot! How could Russell not clear it with him? They've been together what, almost 700 years or so? Surely vampire politics can't get in the way of that. Even if he never touches Sophie-Anne, still! And she's going to annoy the crap out of Talbot (as she annoys the crap out of me)! Poor guy.

I guess I'm in the minority for not being sick of Sookie trying to save Bill. I just think it's realistic. It's like she said "Not after all we've been through." I mean who said love was rational? This is a man she loves, who has saved her life on multiple occasions, and who she agreed to marry only days ago. I think it's realistic and touching that she's so desperate to save him no matter what. What kind of Sookie would she be if she just gave up? Also, who cares about the family tree. I'm sure Bill had his reasons. He was probably originally sent to study her at Sophie Anne's behest but fell in love with Sookie and abandoned his study. I mean I don't think anyone can question Bill's love for her. He has risked or tried to give his life too many times for us to question it now, whatever his motives for keeping the family tree.

Now the sex with Lorena is a bit harder for me to forgive. Hmph. But I guess it was like he said - he was trying to "kill his love for Sookie." Still, though. Ugh. Lorena needs to DIE. I was a total Bill & Sookie shipper until that. I mean I love Eric, and I love Sookie and Eric, but I was totally behind Bill & Sookie until he had sex with Lorena. Ew.

Russel's marriage to Sophie-Anne would be solely political... More of a legal binding contract than a romantic partnership (which is what he shares with Talbot.)  By the scenes that we have seen, we should probably assume that Talbot knows all about Russels plans to marry Sophie-Anne, and I think that he supports his ambitions.  Though, I'm not sure if Russel tells him the -gruesome- details of his plans.  I think, he tries to "protect" his spouse from that side of things.  (Which is why Talbot says, "YOU NEVER TAKE ME ANYWHERE..." - With the "business" that Russel has been into these days, I don't think he wants his lover involved in that danger.)

Talbot shows his jealous side with Eric.  At the beginning of the episode and, again, in the card-game scene; he does not like the vibes he's getting between Russel and Eric.  That is something that will cause an issue... but Sophie-Anne- hehe, I don't think he cares one bit.  ;)

I am agreeing with a lot of the most excellent and delicious posts!  TruBlood pizazzz is back!  I see "plans within plans," and I'm lapping up the wild and crazy plots and marriage themes that saturate this season.  Memorable "love em-- hate em" characters are the hallmark of  True TruBlood, and baby, we've got em galore this season!
Missing Lorena already, cause she has gone too far this time!  I hope she will be back in flashback soon...  And Franklin--  his character is just so Norman Batey in a vampiric way with a twist of TruBlood.  Yep, I love him, hate him, but wish he's not dead for good or bad or whatever the case may be.  Never trust a good-looking guy in the world of TruBlood, Lafayette.  Remember what you told Tara about twelve-pack Eggs Benedict?

I am totally agreeing with everyone about the last three episodes.  I watched them over and over again like a Were on V and savored the sweet flavor of some excellent writing and acting (thank you Alan Ball, cast, and crew of TruBlood).
Several questions come to mind, and I would like to hear ideas from members of the Forum.  First. does anyone think Lorena might have been Russell's progeny, also, in addition to Talbot.  The King does like to have an assortment
of intelligent and attractive vamps for his enterage.  I'm sure he would like to have added Bill, Eric, and Sookie to his royal Mississippi court.
Russell, whatever his selfish motivation, did save Pam, and I truly wish Eric, the vengeful Viking, could have taken that into consideration before he took it out on Talbot.  Maybe, Russell, being such an ancient and resourceful vampire, will know some way of resurrecting the vampire bloody slime of his child, Talbot.  That would be a new TruBlood trick that even Charlaine Harris has never explored in her books.  I loved Talbot, the Royal Vampire Consort.  His character was priceless, as was his taste in antiques.
Finally, although Lafayette deserves love, Jesus is just too good to be true in the world of TruBlood.  I'm waiting for the big suprise.  The suspense is killing me...

Apologies to Liz and the Forum for spelling "entourage" incorrectly.
I just adored the way that Sam's mother looked like and had the same expression and personality as her shifter doggy- look- alike.  It's the little details that makes TruBlood so enjoyable, and I am very proud of myself and Forum members when they and I find those little bitty flavorable tidbits to snack upon.  Yum, Yum, food for thought.

^ To be honest, I'm a  little dissappointed they're going for the 'Make 'Em all Evil' thing. Showing Sam's Mom to be *just* as bad as her husband. I really liked the early episodes 'trapped in the slums' image they gave her. I liked that she, out of them all, could relate to Sam, not only because of her Shifting, but because she was his Mother. I'm dissappointed they're just abolishing all that characterisation and 'what-could have been' with a silly "She's just double-crossing him too" plot.

Anyone know if Tommy's sticking around? I remember reading an articale that said he was. But unless, he Dies, he returns to his parents, or his parents kidnapp him back off Sam and drive off - he'd have to be a season regular in almost, or basically, every  episode of True Blood, due to being Sam's brother, and at the heart of one of the show's bigget hubs, Merlotte's.

I really loved the "my turn, your turn game" that Sookie and Russell played when they met.  I just adore the Russell  and Talbot relationship that the writers have created, because it just seems so believable and makes the episodes so enjoyable.  I agree with most of the forum, the last three episodes have hit TruBlood greatness, and are worth watching more than once.
The Franklin Mott character is like someone out of a bad stalker nightmare, but I just love watching that warped, funny, derranged, charming, vampire psycho.
When Talbot tells Tara, "Who's a pretty girl ?"--  I have to chuckle.  That look she gives him is just priceless.  It is so obvious that Talbot sees Tara as a pretty little new pet that Franklin has brought to show off to everyone.  Priceless TruBlood.  TruBlood is often a visual and psychological fantasy character delight.

So sorry, I did not finish my thought...
When Sam's mother showed up at the door to collect her things, I would like to have seen some old scarring on her back, so that I might feel a little sorry for an obvious co-dependent, low self-esteem, because I'm an unlovable freeky shifter gal, who only deserves abuse and the love of a rotten dog-fighting drunk.  I get it.

TeaAna:  You have so perfectly figured out the Russell/Talbot relationship.  Thanks for the brilliant insights.  I agree with you totally.

Now, I think (and though it's really sad) Russell is gonna be killed off/leave at the end of this season.

HOWEVER, Lots of Gay Couples like to adopt or have children through a Surrogate mother.
The Vamp version of this would be Progeny. I wonder if Russell & Talbot ever 'made' anyone?

I'd Love to see someone claiming himself as "Russell's Son" Vamp Progeny, coming back for Revenge.

I could see that happening, but hopefully not for a long time. Something like next season would be way too early.
