We’ll be bringing you a series of gift guides, tailored to different types of people you may have on your list, in hopes of easing your shopping stress and making your holidays merry and bright!

The <insert actor> Fan

True Blood has introduced millions of us to a “new” group of actors. While we discovered them as vampires, shifters, waitresses, fry cooks, et al., most of these talented men and women have several projects on their resumes that make fine gifts for someone who is a fan.

Anna Paquin: Easily the highest profile member of the cast going into season 1, Anna Paquin has an extensive filmography that reaches back to her 1993 debut in The Piano, for which she won an Oscar. She’s also well-known for playing Rogue in the X-Men Trilogy, but several smaller projects might be new to the Anna fan on your list. Fly Away Home is a sweet movie from 1996 that co-stars Jeff Daniels; Blue State is a combination road trip/political debate that Anna starred in and executive produced. More titles from Anna’s eclectic acting career include the dark comedy Buffalo Soldiers, Western Bury My Heart at Wounded Knee, and the recent horror compilation Trick ‘r Treat.

Stephen Moyer: With a list of television series and movies to his credit, Stephen is another established actor with plenty of options to choose from for under the tree. Catch him as Prince Phillip in Princess of Thieves, one of Kiera Knightley’s first projects, or as a homeowner held captive in the thriller Restraint. For those wanting a longer storyline featuring Stephen, he appears in the English mini-series The Grand as well as the U.S. mini-series The Starter Wife.

Alexander Skarsgard: Sweden’s favorite son, Alex’s pre-True Blood work can be difficult to obtain for those in the U.S., but his growing fame had made some of them more accessible. His highest profile project, aside from being Eric, is the Emmy-winning HBO mini-series Generation Kill. Alex plays a depressed transvestite in the quirky Kill Your Darlings and of course there’s his small part as a supermodel in Zoolander. If your recipient has a region free DVD player, some of Alex’s Swedish films are available in Region 2 format.

Sam Trammell: His work to date has primarily been guest spots on various television shows, but there are a few of Sam’s projects that could be stocking stuffers. Undermind is a well-reviewed drama that stars Sam in dual roles as men in parallel realities who switch bodies. Made-for-TV movie Anonymous Rex is a wry take on sci-fi thrillers that follows dinosaurs who disguise themselves as humans (really!).

Ryan Kwanten: Aussie import Ryan has a healthy television resume as well, with some movies thrown in for good measure. If you have a Ryan fan on your list, check out some of these projects: Flicka is the movie that brought him to Alan Ball’s attention and is good for younger fans or those with children; Ryan plays the lead in Liquid Bridge, the story of a young man who wants to be a professional surfer; and Dead Silence is the requisite horror movie that almost every actor has on their filmography.

With the cast’s popularity rising, and the long hiatus between season, we expect next year’s gift guide will have many additional projects for us to choose from!
