Alexander Skarsgard Adds to Round Table Conversation

About a month ago, Alexander Skarsgard weighed in at the Emmy Roundtable organized by The Hollywood Reporter. He was joined by actors Matthew Fox (Lost), Ray Romano (Men of a Certain Age), Matt Bomer (White Collar), John Hamm (Mad Men) and Bryon Cranston (Breaking Bad) at Chateau Marmont in Los Angeles.

Skarsgard quips that he loves to watch himself on True Blood. “I’m blown away by my own performance! I’m like a drug to myself.” On a more serious tone, though, he is probably his own worst critic. “Every single scene, I’m like, “Oh man, way too big. That look is so redundant. Again with that flat delivery?” I really don’t enjoy it.” Hey, self-evaluation means growth, right Alexander?

Take a look at the videos.

They talk about reading internet buzz about their performances and Alexander is among those who avoid online chat found on websites. “I stay away from all that. It’s not just the bad stuff; I feel like the positive stuff might make my ego explode. ”

It’s a great in-depth look at the thoughts and emotions that come with the job, from some of the best on television today. Read the entire transcript at The Live Feed.

Over-night fan (almost literally) of the Sookie Stackhouse series since early 2008. Co-owner of True-Blood.net. Anxiously anticipating season 6.
