Friday Five: Top Fan Queries
We get a lot of emails from Truebies who want us to tell them everything from shooting locations to how many seasons of True Blood are planned. While we are often mistaken for HBO, we are not, and can’t answer many questions until HBO releases information to us. However, since we do aspire to be your complete and accurate source for news, etc., I’m going to address the top five questions we are always asked.
- Will Bubba be in the show at all? This is the most often asked question around here and around fandom in general. It’s the one question that has been answered many, many times by Alan Ball and by us. One last time: it’s NOT GOING TO HAPPEN. All the petitions and wishing and letter-writing campaigns are not going to change this fact. The reasons have been explained and the decision has been made. Let it go, kids, and let’s move on. 🙂
- When will True Blood air in (my country)? We look out for this information and keep our ears to the ground. We are just as excited when True Blood travels the globe as you all are to get it. As soon as we hear anything at all, we will post it, Tweet it, Facebook it, climb the tallest building with a bullhorn and call it out. So stay tuned!
- Here’s my resume. Can you get me on the show? No. Get yourself an agent and let them know what you want. Again, we are not HBO or Alan Ball. We just wish we were. 😀
- The books were so great. Why can’t the show be exactly like the books? Because it would be boring as hell. Because Lafayette would be dead. Because Jessica would not have been made. Because we would all miss the wonderful differences that make True Blood the fantastic hit that it is.
- Where is True Blood filming? I’m making my vacation plans. The last time we released that information, thinking they were finished filming and it would be harmless enough, Alan Ball sent a very angry Shreveport sheriff to exact severe punishment. We kept the sheriff, but promised Alan we would behave. In other words – no more location information will be forthcoming on pain of Eric Northman. Means I know nothing.
