SPOILERS: Russell, Lorena, Coot, Debbie, Tommy, Jesus

IGN caught up with the cast of True Blood at the red carpet premiere, and got some fresh scoop for us that sheds some light on storylines that have previously been under wraps.

• Russell Edgington is a mercenary. Denis O’Hare fills in the King of Mississippi’s backstory with the intriguing information that he was a mercenary previously, going into battle at dusk for various (human) kings and “turning the tide of battle.”
• Debbie Pelt & Coot are a couple. Brit Morgan confirmed that their characters are a couple when we meet them this season, although that doesn’t stop Debbie from being very upset when she sees Sookie with her ex, Alcide.
• Coot does bad things to Bill. Grant Bowler got along great with Stephen Moyer, but you won’t be able to tell on screen when Coot tortures Bill.
• Lorena is this season’s Kenny. Mariana Klaveno joked that in every episode, someone’s in the background yelling, “They killed Lorena!” She’s also a participant in what might be the most memorable scene of the season, which occurs in the first 3 episodes.
• Tommy Mickens is a shifter. Sam Trammell revealed that not only is Tommy a shifter, he’s also more attuned to the shifter world than Sam because he was raised to know the rules.
• Jesus Velasquez is not a werewolf. When asked if Lafayette gets involved in the “werewolf madness” this season, Nelsan Ellis said that he does not.

Kudos to IGN for getting some fresh clues and confirmations for us. Only 1 more day until the story begins to unfold on HBO!
