Marshall Allman, Lizzy Caplan Land New Gigs

Marshall Allman, who plays Sam’s brother Tommy, will spend the rest of his True Blood hiatus filming the indie movie Sugar, co-starring 90210’s Shenae Grimes. Sugar is the story of a young woman suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder who lives on the streets of Venice Beach. The production has partnered with homeless shelter My Friends Place to raise funds for its activities.

Lizzy Caplan, Jason’s V-addicted lover from True Blood season one, will guest star in Matthew Perry’s new series, Mr. Sunshine, coming to ABC early next year. In Mr. Sunshine, Perry is the sports arena manager for the Sunshine Center, a second-tier arena in San Diego. He and Caplan’s character have a fling, then things get awkward when she turns up at work the next morning as his boss’ new assistant.
