Who Is…Patrick Devins?

This is part 11 in our series of features about the new characters coming to True Blood in season 4. We’ll be taking a look at these new characters using both information from casting calls and from the novels on which the show is based. Beware, spoilers ahead!

Who Is Patrick Devins?

While this column exists to inform you of characters from season 4, we couldn’t help posting this one now. Here is a new character that has been added as a series regular for season five. Season five, folks! Patrick is going to be part of Terry Bellefleur’s story, which strikes me as very interesting. The casting call describes him as a tough, ruggedly handsome man in his mid-30s to mid-40s. Patrick is an old military chum of Terry’s who also happened to save his life once. Is this trouble or comfort for Terry? How will Arlene accept him?

This is very exciting news for those who have read the books and know that Terry has no real story line, and Sookie stays out of his head for some pretty obvious reasons, so he’s pretty much been a sidelines kind of character. Scott Foley will play Patrick.
