Alan Ball Developing New Drama for HBO Centered on Abortion Clinic

Well this one hits close to home. Alan Ball is developing a new medical drama for HBO about a doctor at an abortion clinic. Titled Wichita and set in Wichita, Kansas (just down the road from me), the series follows a surgeon “who inadvertently becomes the focal point of a contemporary political, cultural and ethical war,” says The Hollywood Reporter.

The inspiration for the series appears to be Dr. George Tiller, who was killed by an anti-abortion activist in 2009.
