Jurnee Smollett, Amelia Rose Blaire Join True Blood Season 6
We have casting news for two important roles for True Blood season 6 to start off the week: Jurnee Smollett and Amelia Rose Blaire are coming on board.
Smollett has been cast as activist Nicole Jannsen, a series regular for the new season. From the little bits of information we’ve seen so far, Nicole will be tangled up in vampire rights campaigns as the world reels from the violence of season 5. You may recognize Smollett from Friday Night Lights where she played Jessi, and a recent two-episode arc in FOX’s now-cancelled drama The Mob Doctor.
Possibly joining Nicole in her campaign is Amelia Rose Blaire who has been cast as Willa Burrell, daughter of the Governor of Louisiana. Her mother left her father to be with a vampire, and he holds a mighty grudge against the fangy ones as a result. Willa doesn’t share her father’s beliefs, but feels trapped. Amelia has guest starred on several shows, including Royal Pains, Perception, and Grimm.
True Blood season 6 is filming now and expected to premiere in June 2013.
